as an aside - the exact same thing is happening in lagos

for the past 15 years middle class northerners have been migrating enmass to lagos. now they want to entrench the same hard core conservative nonsense that made the north uninhabitable in the first place
SMH!

What's funny is that they are claiming him as Obidient when if you go through his TL on Twitter, he is very active and he didnt for once campaign for Peter Obi. (He didn't campaign for Tinubu either)

Infact if we go by the man past tweet, he will most likely be an Atiku supporter.

What hard core conservatism are northerners pushing in Lagos??

The bold is what happens almost everyday in government hospitals , it’s quite unfortunate .

I am 💯 in support of holding the government accountable for the avoidable death of the young doctor . I am also considering more people can die from the sudden strike which takes effect immediately . There will be people already scheduled for surgery in the coming days in those hospitals and the doctors strike will surely affect them/their chances of staying alive .

I am all in for the government to do something about this incident , punish all the people found culpable like those responsible for not carrying out the maintenance , review the regulations around blood donation( I learnt this was the reason she didn’t get blood on time ) and come out strong on reviewing doctors welfare . But we all know most of this cannot be done in an instant
It is better to get to the bottom of issues and get long term solutions than settle for another patchwork quick fix arrangement again.

You already heard of the governor's wife talking about arrows. That is the level of unseriousness we are dealing with in these positions.

Oya you're talking of surgery, what are the prospects of survival in a hospital lacking blood and oxygen, a hospital without material to react in timely manner. This is only attempting to postpone the evil day.

Lagosians have to see this as their struggle not just the Drs. Their anyhowness is what happened and those victims of the bus and train collision had reduced chance of survival.
Yes the people scheduled for surgery might die today, but accident and emergency victims will surely die tomorrow if real fixes are not implemented

Also nobody is addressing the elevator issue. Why is a ten story hospital not having a fully functional elevator? So all that IGR Tinubu and his people dey collect what are they now using it for? What's now their flex?

A hospital is supposed to have a blood bank on ground. And if not then they should be able to reach out to somewhere that can supply blood urgently.

It is really annoying that these stories continue to repeat themselves. This is the same thing that happened with the lagbus incident. No blood available.
Those CMD’s are m.o.r.o.n.s

Most of them are political doctors. One abnormally idiotic one was challenging me for not putting on a tie in the emergency department. The same emergency department that did not have Normal saline for resuscitation in that sane day.

I have also worked in an emergency department without oxygen cylinder or mechanical ventilator and had to manually ventilate a child overnight. My forearm looked like Popeye’s own the next morning.

Religion really make people think and move like weirdos. If it's by how religious Nigerians are Nigeria should be heaven on earth. Never understood it, where is the energy for child marriage and other fvxkery. Why do you have no smoke for that but have smoke for a woman not covering her hair

it is not even a case of a non functioning elevator. this is a case of an elevator that has COMPLETELY AND CATASTROPHICALLY FAILED.
for you to go from elevator that has issues to elevator that FALLS all the way to the floor - too many safety barriers have been bypassed

like when mechanics disable all the air bag etal on your car.

There are ways to source the blood from outside the hospital bro. That's what I'm blaming her colleagues for.

The hospital CMD and its board as lots of questions to answer.

And all this bring to the fore how badly run the hospital is.

Blood is not available in the hospital doesn't stop the hospital from getting blood from somewhere else.
Where will they have gotten the blood?
You making it look like blood is something they will get from roadside pharmacies

We've always said it here that you can always abuse Tinubu but if he sees value in you, he will work with you.

Now he has been appointed minister, let's hope he will perform. It's time for him to walk the walk. Words are easy .

I wish him all the best.

There have been four successful coups over the years. Any trend that is not arrested will grow and thrive. These are clearly not isolated instances

As it is some soldiers may be getting ambitious

If anyone is naive enough to wish for the same in Nigeria - then understand that banning twitter will be child's play compared to what you get from coupists backed by repressive regimes. You will know and learn the true meaning of repression. People like rufai will shut up or do 20 years with hard labour.

As it usually is in politics, there are no clear answers and several possible outcomes.

We already have a situation in zamfara - gold mining - where there is obviously some symbiosis between Chinese gold miners and bandits.

I do not know the nature of our lithium reserves, but if they are located up north, and in commercial quantities, some people may be encouraged to seek for a split. Especially as all they now need is a Chinese railway from Niger to Sudan port to evacuate the materials.
Our Lithium reserves are in the North, especially Zamfara, Nasarawa and Kwara. I hear it's in large commercial quantities and very promising. Only issue is it's underdeveloped as we're still in artisanal mineral production era.

If we map out our plan now and go into action we might be sitting on our next crude oil for the next four decades. The world is pivoting towards EVs and battery powered technologies. Countries with the processing power for this raw materials will gain a mighty soft power in the grand scheme of things in global economics.

They are political appointees and are essentially part of government. I have worked with a good number of them to know this. They are never on the side of the doctors and are basically corrupt civil servants who just happen to have medical degrees, and most of them don't carry out any clinical practice again.

Those are her bosses not her colleagues.

Boss they said there's no blood in the hospital. I'm telling you there are several ways they would've gotten blood if they tried. Most blood banks even have dedicated full time dispatch riders to deliver blood.

We are blaming those that should've made sure the elevators are working perfectly which is the CMD and the hospital management board.

The statement from Sanwo-Olu wife is stupid and insensitive. To think that shes also a doctor.
