General Salifou Mody, one of the Niger officers who seized power in a military coup last week, visited Mali on Wednesday, according to
the Mali presidency to form an alliance with the Wagner mercenary group, which has a presence in the country. The Wagner group has
about 3000 troops in Mali, allied with the military regime there. Its founder, Yevgeny V. Prigozhin, has praised the coup in Niger and offered Wagner’s services to the new rulers of Niger
