Hello Good Evening, The vawulence has been high on NL for the past few years, religious riots and the likes... I realized that this stuff started so many years ago and the same old faces that were arguing back then are still up here arguing now... I joined NL because of SEO Writing and free advertising but I remember my inspiration to create my first Post here on the religious section, the commotion it stirred... I never saw it coming. It should be noted that I was banned by antispambot over and over and I took it as a cue to end arguments on that thread. However, I've realized that arguments here don't really change anyone's previous mindset so why bother? On that note, let's share how our different religions have changed us, the improvements we've made because of our religion and why you've decided not to look back. I'll start. |

Okay so it's a common thing in Christianity to hear of someone being born again over and over again, simply because the person couldn't just keep up with the requirements to be born again and remain like that. The requirements, though simple, actually seem so difficult and for starters it's: Don't do any bad thing. So I was typically the type that always went back to my vomit. I'll taste from the Lord's table and still run back to dine with the devil and it was awful, like I regretted almost immediately after every sin I committed. One of the biggest sin in my life was sexual immorality — a common stronghold on people. I had grown up with a very active and nasty mind, and had started at a very tender age to fantasize having sex with people. I quickly moved on to start m@sturb@ting even before I ever watched p0rn0graphy... Though my parents were super watchful and alert, overprotective, I found myself with corrupt friends, relatives and so on... It moved and gradually developed into active sin — incest. I had a girlfriend at primary 1 and that's how corrupt I was. I gradually grew up to become wiser and I tried to cover up the effects of all these stuff in my early childhood. But you see, that's the problem with seeds that you sow — They always tend to grow! |

It has kept me alive and kpekusive. My Mozlem friends have all exploded and left me with kpekus while chasing 72 virgins in heaven. |

But you see, that's the problem with seeds that you sow — They always tend to grow! I grew up wiser, had a zeal for God, served God and the devil... In terms of my relationship with God, there was a gradually rising chart, then it fluctuated, dropped and gradually fell to zero. At this point, I had completely dumped my God. But again you see, that's the thing with God's Grace and Mercy — It hits you the hardest when you least expect it. Fast-forward to 2021, while I was living in my self-created doom, I stumbled across a proper Church (during all my sinful life, I was still a churchgoer). I learnt the Truth through them, got encouragement and support, I was made to take my baton and continue my race. It was one of the best experiences in my life: I felt light in mind and heart, I had assurance always and I had peace. I had a new friend — The Holy Spirit and He took the time to speak to me in many ways I never deemed possible, I learnt better ways to understand God, His Laws and the people around me... But this seed of sexual immorality always had a way of resprouting even when I had tried to cut off that tree... |

...A few moments in, I had terminated my relationship with my maker and had gone to chase worldly pleasures, most especially this m@sturb@tion in question. Once in a while when had a pressing need, I'll go back with my tail between my legs, tattered and hopeless to ask. Many times, I still received despite my flaws. Later on I got a job as a teacher. I think this was when I decided that i won't allow this evil to get the better of me. I made up my mind to be perfect for the children. But again, A led to B and so and so and I found myself in my gutter again, m@sturb@ting early before classes began and at the end of classes for that day. Even I, was ashamed of myself and tried many walk-arounds to serve God and sin, none worked. God quickly took that job from me. How do I know? 1. I knew I would lose the job soon even before anything happened as God hinted. 2. When I finally got free from my sin and asked God, the school called me back the very next day. So basically, from what I've tried to voice out, it is obvious that sexual immorality was one of my worst struggles... It even came to a point where I would try and stay for a whole week without m@sturb@ting or watching p0rn0graphy, but while I'm sleeping, the devil would send some form of girl or something to jerk me off and I would wake up to see the semen on myself physical. This happened twice. I fell for the first one and immediately used it as an excuse to jump back into my old sack of trash. Now, thankfully to God Almighty, I've been celibate physically and in my mind since a long time now. No therapy, no medications whatsoever. It's good to be free and relaxed. It's good to live a full day knowing that you can ask God for anything and get a reply because you know that you've kept yourself clean in your own ways. The so-called Sleep Paralysis (which started since I was little as well) also ended and can't return no matter how bad my sleeping habit is... I read the Bible and it's like I've been permitted to see the same old things, but from better perspectives and with wider understanding. This is just 3 or so of the many things I've benefitted since I became a true Christian. I really thank the Almighty God. Over to you. |

preciousee17:Just like you, I also struggled with masturbation for a long time. I would embark on marathon fasting and 'hot prayers' and it would subside for a while, and later, I'm back into it. It even got so bad it is the day I end the fast that I fall back into this sin. When I finally got delivered, it still seems surreal: by the Holy Spirit revealing the truth of my identity in Christ as a believer, saved already by the precious blood of Jesus. My mind needed to be revamped and renewed continually by the Word of God. Even when temptations come here and there, I stand in the reality of what God has written concerning me before I even came into existence: the old me is dead and the current "me" is a new man. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Christ in me, the hope of glory! Jesus changed my life and He is still changing it for good! "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free..." |
