Wale Edun: “But I would just like to warn that all the models are showing that the fundamental value of the naira should be somewhere around 700. So, a note of caution to the “speculators”, as liquidity flows in and the rate comes rapidly down, there is a chance that they could lose their shares, it is just a warning.”

Do I believe this statement?, Yes. The instability in the forex market today is largely due to the actions of “speculator”. Since the unification of the exchange rate, there has been increase in FPI by over 300%. I&E turnover has also increased by 400%. Notwithstanding the increase in demand, the current value of naira isn’t reflective of the above supply fundamentals. With as much as N2.4 trillion outside the banking system and total over N4 trillion in circulation, my guess is that speculators are buying the dollar and rerouting it to the black market.

The over N100 disparity of the black market with “official rate” is largely artificial. To beat the speculators to their game, we need a significant inflow of foreX liquidity( around $15 billion), we need to immediate continuation of the naira swap policy albeit in a seemless manner, we also need more transparency in the digital transaction of foreX.

They are highlighting what has been said about Tinubu over and over. The man is not petty and does not keep grudges.
He has identified this man as a person who can deliver.
Probably told him - you think you can actually make change and not just be an internet noisemaker?
And the nominee also does not send. If he did he would have deleted the tweets or made them private.
But obidients gonna obidient.
Bosun Tijanni was very vocal on Twitter and gave a lot of ideas on how things should be done. Its now time for him to assume position and implement his laudable ideas

Like IBB did with Tai Solarin

Taiwo Oyedele made so many tweets posts on X [twitter] how more money can be generated via tax. PBAT didn't waste time to assign him the Responsibility - come and walk the talk.

I always laugh at people wey dey use textbook economics knowledge analyze naija economy. grin

Na Nigeria dem go announce deregulation , tell u the price will be determined by forces of demand and supply and then one government agency go still dey regulate same price wey demand and supply supposed dictate.

I told someone recently that when dem Adam Smith and other great economics dey propound their respective economic theories, dem no include Nigeria for their plans at all. The corruption in naija and lack of transparency dey choke forces of demand and supply.

Anglophone sef get our own

Like Rawlings for Ghana, or Mugabe for Zimbabwe or Mubarak for Egypt or Arap Moi for Kenya

IBB fit do am for us, Abacha shebi if not for death he don transform himself to civilian and all 5 political parties adopted him as their candidate, youths all over Nigeria were campaigning for Abacha, if not for untimely death, who wan stop 3 or 7 terms for Abacha? The west already cut us off so nothing else dem fit do besides to invade us
Let me clarify. Most of what we are practicing in Africa is civilian rule not democracy, democracy will require your institutions and your legislative and judicial arms to be working perfectly. This is not the case.

Nigeria head is too strong for one man to rule like that. Maybe if those countries were not as tribally heterogeneous like we are they would have chased away their strong men too by hook or crook. I'm not one of those that believe Abacha died natural death but that's topic for another day

raumdeuter:
No colonial master will serve your interest, theyare all after their own interest whether its US, China, Russia France or UK. The Sankara wey we dey talk sef, how do you know if he had lived longer wont be like all those revolutionary coupists who became terrors after a while.
See the list of coupists in Nigeria we only romanticize the ones wey dem regime short like Murtala and pre-2015 Buhari when you see their regime for a long time you go see that Sankara is as bad as Campaore. Na Initial Gragra statements we dey cling onto. If Buhari no enter in 2015 na so we for dey dwell on stories of how he was a revolutionary and ousted by the west because of one thing or the other
That is my point. If those interests remain and you're still wallowing in poverty then what is the use of maintaining those interests. We don't know if Sankara would have been better or worse, he could have been a terror or he could have been Lee Kwan Yew. No leader is going to be 100% perfect. Bill Clinton had his drama but most Americans agree they enjoyed the most economic progress under him, same can be argued for Reagan

Did Sankara work or not is the question? He did. They were food sufficient, their healthcare greatly improved.

The problem is institutions. Whether Sankara goes rogue or not would be immaterial if there are institutions to keep him in cheque

Lol. Nobody born and mature under Buhari regime romanticized Buhari oh. The same Buhari Fela was singing curses for abi Barrister that was singing about the poverty in the land during his regime? Na Millenials wey no know wetin dey sup and some that were just tired of PDP incompetence

raumdeuter:
So you really believe these Niger coupists? LOL. If the west I mean US wants to show power, they will give correct money that Russia cannot match to them and they will start singing a different tune. How many times have we see anti western revolutionaries after 2 visits to New York become more American than the ones they chased

Money is the root of all evil and anyone with money will end up winning
I don't believe in anything or anybody. I believe in everyone being allowed the constitutional rights of fvckin around and finding out. Let them allow these countries try and fail on their own. If whatever the West and US were doing was working all this time they will not be among the top 10 poorest countries on the planet. Nigeria is poor but Niger is poorer.

I am not for the coupists or against them. My own is anyway they can resolve things without any invasion or shots fired is my own concern.

There are ways to source the blood from outside the hospital bro. That's what I'm blaming her colleagues for.

The hospital CMD and its board as lots of questions to answer.
It's not every case where you have 30 mins to source blood

Hospital should have O neg to hand on standby which is compatible with any blood type. Hospitals should have a blood fridge in every Theatre area with O neg inside

that unfortunately is tied to power issues
then again - power issues that competent management can resolve with dedicated inverter and UPS for refrigeration

PRESS STATEMENT:

NNPC-NIPCO, PARTNER TO DELIVER CNG TO NIGERIANS

As part of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited’s commitment to providing cheaper alternative fuel to motorists, the company is happy to announce a strategic partnership with NIPCO Gas Limited to deploy Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations across the country.

This landmark collaboration aims to expand our CNG infrastructure, improve access to CNG, and accelerate the adoption of cheaper and cleaner alternative fuel for buses, cars and Keke NAPEP, which will significantly reduce the cost of transportation and engender sustainable national economic growth.

Under the NNPC-NIPCO strategic partnership, 35 state-of-the-art CNG stations will be constructed nationwide, including three (3) Mother stations.

Once fully operational, the stations can service over 200,000 vehicles daily, thereby significantly reducing the cost of automobile fuel to Nigerians and reducing the cost of transportation.

The project will be rolled out in phases. The first phase, comprising 21 CNG stations, will support intra-city transportation and be ready by the first quarter of 2024; While the second phase, comprising 35 CNG stations, will support inter-city transformation and will be ready by late 2024. This will be further complemented by additional 56 stations to be deployed by NNPC Retail across the country.

NIPCO Gas Limited is currently operating 14 CNG stations across Nigeria and has converted over 7,000 vehicles to run on CNG. NIPCO’s technical competency and field experience will bolster this initiative's success and amplify its positive impact on the Nation's economy.

This initiative will leverage Nigeria's abundant natural gas resources to bring multiple benefits to Nigerians, including access to cheaper fuel, reduced cost of transportation, reduced carbon emissions, create new business value chains and streams of job opportunities.

NNPC Ltd. expects further private sector participation by oil marketing companies to broaden CNG penetration and availability.

NNPC Ltd. remains committed to reliably delivering energy while continuously creating value for Nigeria’s prosperous future alongside our partners.

Chief Corporate Communications Officer
NNPC Ltd.

Nothing complicated imho. You have alluded to it. And we have seen it. We see it all the time. Unchecked greed. 5% is not enough. 10% is not enough. I go chop 80% and let the elevator fall. Not stall, not fail, but actually fall. I will steal money that can last 50 generations. To this day we are still seeing abacha loot. How much loot do you think ibb stashed away?

And almost no one has any loyalty to anyone but themselves. Leaders are content to sell out the country for crumbs. Did you read 234next expose on gowon? Pfizer hired the man to mediate on their behalf in their Nigeria case. A former president of Nigeria was belittling the suffering of Nigerians.

You have to wonder about the black man, and why so much of the time even the wealthy and leaders among us have a poverty mentality and cannot think about the outcomes of their greed.

The election umpire told us Tinubu scored more votes than Obi and you are saying its a lie. So who should we believe? you?

We looked at Obis petition nowhere did he say or contest that he scored more votes than Tinubu

Obi won in Lagos, so what? Is he contesting for president of Lagos? Tinubu won Nigeria and beat Obi handily

You can throw tantrums and call Tinubu anything you want but today he is your president and Obi's president as well.

Anyone that does not like that fact can hug transformer
There is a petition against Tinubu and so far he has not proven that he won or that he is even qualified to run in the first place.

He is not president until the tribunal decides.
