I can see the way some elements are supporting this ridiculous request from their people but I have a question or two for them:

1. How many non-igbo persons are commissioners in igboland?

2. How many governors in igboland made an Igbo person from another state a commissioner in their own state?

I before others.

Too funny indeed Lagos that did it are regretting it right now and they have learned their lesson.

Now Niger state is their next target then in 2027 the music we will be hearing from Niger is Niger is no man's land, we build it, we ownes it, next a governor candidate under ipob party called LP will bring forward a claimed Niger indegene who do not speak any dialect from Niger but speak igbo fluently and the next is flashing of Biafra flag.

Niger people shine your eyes and shine your brain learn from Lagoss mistake.

Niger be warn. A word is enough for the wise.

Why not?

An Anambra state born expert is in charge of Abia revenue collection department appointed by Alex Otti.
Enugu state governor appointed a Yoruba man to head their state broadcasting service based on merit not because Yoruba community in Enugu state is doing anything of note. I can go on and on.

In advanced civilized nation, this is normal.

But experience in Lagos is now teaching other states to 'wise-up'

Tinubu was magnanimous to allow that in Lagos, but Lagosians are now REGRETTING it today.

The experience in Lagos is in the delusional heads of tribalistic Yoruba Tinubu supporters only.

Truly there is nothing wrong in it. Even here in Kaduna, southerners hold alot of posts. All this insecure feelings that hausas are now feeling about southerners now is because of what happened in Lagos. Especially all those internet war between Yoruba and igbos really damage our relationship and now it seems they been careful

What happened in Lagos was Tinubu supporters trying to deny Igbos in Lagos state their constitutional right to vote and be voted for.
And you are talking like a Yoruba Tinubu supporter.

Ahmadu Bello saw these people coming a mile away.

As I would always advice, never give privileges to the Igbos that they would themselves not give their fellow Igbos.

How many Abia Igbos have been appointed commissioner by an Anambra Governor?and what was his fate later on

How many Enugu Igbos have been appointed commissioner by an Imo Governor?

Every one should learn to be fiercely territorial like the Igbos do on their internal relations and their external relations.

Ahmadu Bello better describes it.

Because u don't travel.

If u have travelled to the north,u will know why some demands aren't out of place.

Most of them are found where u can't live doing businesses and pls, don't say what u don't know.

I once served in Bunza LGA. When the jos crisis came up,the chief of that Local govt area refused to be a party to the crisis as some elements wanted a reprisal but he refused.

This was what he told us: he said there many igbos who do what their people can not do,such as mechanic, chemist, pharmacy and name it. He said if u fight them and kill them all,who will service their cars, sell medicines,do child delivery and the rest for them.

I don't put my mouth and anything that involves hatred against the igbos...learn their ways, how they survive and their secrets of wealth instead of hating them.

I have been privileged to be what I am today because of igbos.

I beg to differ on the bolded.

Most of the people dooing such businesses are following the market - the community they are doing that in, they could have stayed in their hometowns to do such businesses, if they would be patronised.

Its a win-win for everyone, the Igbos where they are are not doing the people of that place a favor by doing such a business - they are following the market (one that would have been filled by a member of the community if the demand for it is real and one that would have been difficult for them to find in their own hometowns) and the members of the community have a service offered them in their communities, and it is healthy as it is.

But the moment outrageous demands and the need to dominate and emasculate start creeping in, they are seeds of dsicord as most societies in Nigeria are territorial (East, West, North).

The igbos in real need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs them. All talk of Biafra is about their overblown ego, nothing more.

The country as currently structured has the north with the 1. population (market), 2. Produtive lands for agriculture 3. Minerals 4. Potential for serious industrialization.

The SW has the ports and the industrial base, also the center for entertainment industry.

The SS has crude/gas and maritime economy.

The major driver of SE economy is trading. Who would you sell to when your 4 of next door neighbours sell the same product on the same street?

Igbos are just gaining the experience of living among other people and that is what everybody should realize. It is an aspect of the culture and soon they will acclimatize. Igbos are not more dispersed within Nigeria than the Yoruba because every group have where they specialize in and Yoruba too can claim Igbo land as a large percentage of Igbos claim Yoruboid origin and there is also at least one Yoruboid people (not Igala) in the heart of Igbo land speaking a clearly Yoruboid language às their native language and that says a lot but there are no Yorubas claiming they arrived Nigeria before Igbos and etc. It is important that decorum be maintained and the Igbos Hausas Yorubas and etc that will be chosen to lead outside their territory don't at all need their ethnic associations to get the positions for them. If the associations are fighting for them then those who merit the positions may not even get it.

Shamelessly making demands as if the government and people of Niger state invited or begged Igbos to come and live and trade in their state.
Which major tribes in Nigeria are begging South East governors to make them commissioners?
Igbos in Imo state even disowned their own daughter, the wife of Ondo state governor, asking her not to contest for senatorial seat in her home state.
It is shameful that you migrate to places outside of your enclaves, to survive and then become beggars for political appointments.
It is very shameful and disgraceful.
Did people ask you to come and contribute to their economy?
Did they invite you to come and develop their states?
It's a pity.

It is a good developers but I hope it won't end up the way the one in my community ended up.
We had an Igbo person staying with us before the war. My community had a custom where a stranger no matter his age is given a share just after the title holders. This is to recognise his community in our midst and not necessarily the individual. The Igbo man stayed in my community for so long that by age he became the second eldest person.
When my community wanted to share farmland he was given where they used to give to him even when we had so many people his seniors, this time around the Igbo rejected. He said he must be recognised as the second eldest man in the community and by that should be given such share as it was deserving of the second man. Before my community could say Jack Robinson the man had gone to court that by the constitution of Nigeria that he had stayed in my community for more than 10 years that was enough to make him a bonafide citizen of the community.
To cut the episode short the ruling was in his favour. It was rightly so. Although the magistrate and everyone that presided over the case were Igbos. This was happening in the present Rivers State.
My community learnt their lesson via that case.
The problem is not the man but the Constitution. He's recognized as an indigene as far as the Constitution is concerned.
