No be yourself you d contradict like this. No be NATO military intervention scatter everywhere. Who asked USA to go intervane military for Libya? Na only Libya experienced Arab Spring then?

Here is what Obama the sweet talker said after they killed Gaddafi. USA is a very hypocritical country walahi.
""This marks the end and painful chapter for the people of Libya who now have the opportunity to determine their on destiny in a new and democratic Libya."""

Till today, Libya has been unstable and no central government.

Na the chaos wei USA cause for Libya make some foreign fighters returning from the war to loot weapon stores and started selling it to Boko Haram.

Like the saying goes, to start chaos easy but to end am no easy.
My summation is simple, countries will intervene to pursue their on interest, and that interest might not be favourable to you. So it is in your own interest to make sure that matters that directly concern you, you are either at the forefront or at the table.

The Niger Coup will never be allowed to stand both by France and it allies in Africa, if you followed west African politics you will know why.

Nigeria taking front charge means we are at the for front of the happenings in the country, they are our direct neighbours, we can’t be passive during this time around.

It’s same logic that followed when idris derby of Chad died and Nigeria had to rally around AU to support his son.

Releasing communique and threatening sanction will not force the junta to step down, that’s delusional.

They have to be aware that the threat of force is on the table.

We must do everything in our power to make sure Wagner does not set up shop in our backyard.

That's the simple fact.

The West promote bad governance in Africa and surpress revolutionaries.

Why can't they promote good governance? Their interests will be affected.
Yes na, the west should help us piss to.

Oh, African leaders are so bad but it’s the fault of the west.

Let blame colonialism for all our problems😂

Spy360:
The major problem with Africa is that we have our hearts in the US and Europe and our mouth in Africa.

We say what we hear.

Us And Europe will never mean good for Africa that will not guarantee their own interests. Are we that foolish?

Africa should sit down with themselves and find a solution to their problems without the influence of US and Europe.

That was the goal of Gadafi.
Christianity and Islam will never allow Africa to unite and fight a common enemy. Lols, Africa as a whole is simply under Europe and Arabia as slaves.

It all boils down to the average IQ of Africans as a whole, which is the lowest among the world's continents.

The few highly intelligent Africans don ditch Allah or Yahweh for their native god or commot mind for God matter altogether.

Those two foreign religions, Christianity and Islam, will never allow Africa to grow and be considered as equals among other continents of the world.

You can't develop or be prosperous as a people if you're not connected to your ancestors, your roots, which are the pagan gods the majority of Africans curse and demonize.

The whites know this simple fact; the Arabs also do, just like the Chinese, and these are the most intelligent and developed peoples on Earth.

OasisX:
1990: LIBERIA

Charles Taylor led a militia against the Liberian government, leading to the outbreak of civil war there. Consequently, the regional bloc made an unprecedented move to intervene in 1990. The initial 3,000-man ECOMOG contingent was formed with personnel drawn from Nigeria, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, and Sierra Leone with additional soldiers contributed by Mali.

1997: SIERRA LEONE

Nigeria’s next military intervention was in 1997, when we led the ECOMOG contingent to Sierra Leonean capital, Freetown, in 1997 following the overthrow of the elected civilian government of Ahmed Tejan Kabbah by Major Johnny Paul Koroma in a military coup.

1999: GUINEA BISSAU

The next stop for Nigeria and ECOMOG was a ceasefire mission in Guinea Bissau after hostilities broke out following an attempted coup in 1998. The fight was between government forces backed by neighbouring Senegal and Guinea against coup leaders who had control of the armed forces

2003: IVORY COAST

After Ivorian armed forces and rebel groups came to a ceasefire agreement in 2003, Nigeria and ECOWAS deployed troops as ECOWAS forces in Côte d’Ivoire (ECOMICI) to complement the United Nations and French troops.

2003: LIBERIA

While the first civil war brought Charles Taylor to power, the second civil war between 1999 and 2003 led to his exit.
This time, Nigeria and ECOWAS deployed troops under ECOWAS Mission in Liberia (ECOMIL) with some 3,500 soldiers, with the most coming from Nigeria. They served as an interposition force, keeping the warring parties apart and facilitating the arrival of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).

2013: MALI
A 2012 coup in Mali led to a breakdown of order and armed groups immediately took advantage of the coup that followed to overrun the north of the country. Nigeria and ECOWAS led the Africa-led International Support Mission in Mali (AFISMA) to support the Malian government in the fight against rebels in 2013.

2017: THE GAMBIA
Codenamed “Operation Restore Democracy”, an ECOWAS operation led by Nigeria and Senegal sent troops into Banjul to force Yahya Jammel who had refused to concede an election loss to Adama Barrow in the 2016 election.

All missions were largely successful, go and verify.

Nigeria’s military has always written it name in gold and glory when called upon for continental mission. There is no military in Africa that is as battle prepared and exposed to all the nuances of both conventional and non conventional warfare as the Nigerian military.

Whenever the history of peace keeping and conflict resolution in Africa is told, the Nigerian military will continue to feature prominently.
You missed a couple of countries.

If Wagner and Sons Investment open shop for Niger Republic, it becomes harder to keep our sovereignty.

Whether we like it or not, Nigeria will always be a bigger prize than Niger Republic.

India is as corrupt as they come. But they understand enlightened self interest. As an example they forced huawei to sell equipment in India at a discount. Which Nigerian or African will do that? I did my first it in Siemens in 1998/9. They literally had a Benz SUV in the parking lot which was allocated for the telecoms minister. They have our number and they know we will sell ourselves for peanuts.

You now have to decide if you will sell yourself to the dick or the asshole. I think we can all see the difference between western loans and Chinese loans.

[quote author=OasisX post=124890798][font=serif].....Senegal is ready to send army but Nigeria should hide under Duvet coz a very litle part of our population sees nothing wrong in the coup.

that it’s only Senegal and Ivory Coast that are saber rattling apart from Nigeria.

Those two countries belong to the francophone part of west Africa, I can assure you that their policy plan is being dictated in Paris.

An additional point to consider is that the USA, in all their official statements, has refrained from categorizing the events in Niger as a coup. This is due to the legal implications in the USA, where acknowledging the situation as a coup would trigger the cessation of government support and the termination of defense agreements.

So France and USA are actually not pursuing the same interest in Niger.
😂😂

You would think Nigerians who have literally lived with armed robbery would know how this works. The gang of robbers are not going to rob one house in the street, be satisfied and go away. Neither will the thugs robbing in traffic.

Lmao, people cannot see past their immediate need, most people don’t have foresight.

They don’t understand how geo politics work, imagine someone saying Nigeria should leave Niger Alone😂😂. When the question should be , Will Niger leave Nigeria alone.

They should ask themselves what Ghana saw last year with their neighbour Burkina Faso before she ran to Washington to beg for help.

....France is losing her grip on francophone countries, hence their support for Boots in Niamey is understandable.

I honestly happy France is getting booted out of the Region, coz they don't wanna let these nations breathe. Almost all francophone nations are damn poor, thanks to France.

US actually want Nigeria to act. PBAT is dealing with the US not France on this matter, and its more likely that the Intervention is largely funded by the US through Nigeria.

Now you are getting it.

I want you to do something, go to France24 on YouTube and watch all their coverage of this coup, you will notice a pattern anytime they are suggesting or mentioning intervening in Niger, the name that comes up is Either Senegal or Ivory Coast, they will never mention Nigeria. Even though everyone knows it’s Nigeria giving Ultimatum and threatening to intervene 😂.

The real security implications is not Nigeria intervening in Niger, it’s Niger coup being allowed to stand.

Nigeria and France are technically not in good terms diplomatically. When Macron visited Fela Shrine during Buhari Administration, it wasn't regarded as State visit and dude was treated like a common man. When PBAT visited France recently for a Summit too, they served us back!

Abuja is never happy with Paris dominance on francophone nations in the name of Policy of Assimilation. We are surrounded by them, hence we can't afford to sleep with our 2 eyes closed.

Nigeria actually want France to leave, but we can't let coupists take over the nations as well.

This is the press statement from the US sate department.

MR PATEL: Good afternoon, everybody. I have one very – actually, I don’t have anything at the top. I don’t know why I said that. So happy to dive right in.

As the only person in this row, go ahead, Daphne.

QUESTION: If I could start with Niger.

MR PATEL: Sure.

QUESTION: Are you concerned that the events that are happening in Niger violate – would violate U.S. law barring aid to coup regimes at all? And is that why you’re avoiding coup language and statements on this?

MR PATEL: So this is an evolving situation, and the situation remains incredibly fluid, and thus it’s too soon to characterize the nature of ongoing developments. What I can say is a couple things.

First, we are closely monitoring the situation and are in close communication with our embassy in Niger. What I can also share is that the embassy has conducted a full accountability for all official personnel and family members. But these events continue to evolve. As such, we’ve also publicly advised U.S. citizens to limit unnecessary movement and avoid some of the affected areas until further notice as the situation develops.

https://www.state.gov/ecowas-action-on-mali/

But broadly, let me just reiterate, since you asked – we are gravely concerned about the developments in Niger. We strongly support the democratically elected president, President Bazoum, and we condemn in the strongest terms any efforts to seize power by force and disrupt the constitutional order. We also call for the immediate release of President Bazoum and respect for the rule of law and public safety.
