User Generated Content means we the users are the ones generating the contents for ourselves and we interact with our contents by ourselves.

if Seun starts paying content creators, the money would either be too small or probably spamming would fill the forum.
I don't think reddit pays creators.
Nairaland ain't up that level yet.
Until it starts having millions of visitors at a time, then he can consider.
Content creators can continue using other paying platforms.

Thank you for bringing this. I thought about same thing few days ago. I remember a particular resourceful NLers, Explorers, whom every regular visitor can attest to his compelling and educating threads. But for many months, he hasn't done any thread as he's been busy with his real estate. There are numerous others especially in the Travel section. I will not dare forget our Baba naptu.
These people need to be rewarded because they pull more traffic to the website. I hope @Seun heeds to this suggestion

Seun that hasn't monetized this site, yet it's overrun with stu.pid content. What will happen when there's money? The site won't last for 6 moths cos everybody will be posting all sort of nonsense.

Seun should step up the supervision of the site. Nowadays, I don't know whether it's an adult site or a general site.

He should create his own model of payment.

We have the share button, like mention, then view.
A good content will have much view, like band share.
If a person create a content , Seun might say okay, if you have
50likes, ₦2
50share, ₦3
100views, ₦1
50mentions, ₦4
Whether you create content or not, the above should be applicable to people who make a comment too.
To participate in the payment plan, you must create a free account to indicate interest.
This might bring Total nairaland user to about 5mil. .
Revenue: he will increase his weekly ads, as traffic will increase

The Truth is that Nairaland can actually pay content creators using The "Subscription Model" like the way Quora Operates.


Seun could help integrate Content Lockers To Threads so that Content Creators can Lock PAGE 2 of Their Threads whilst having PAGE 1 Provide Great Value to The Audience.


Different Subscription Plan can be awarded to these Content Lockers which Creators can chose from.


Then, Nairaland can get 30% Content Revenue from Every Content Lockers - Unlocked !


Seun could do this if he actually feels the need to Empower People with Great Contents.
