A40:Both north and south Korea are still at war. The war hasn't truly ended only fighting stopped in 1953. That's why there's a DMZ but no peace treaty |

Emaprince:The funny thing in all of these is that the eastern corridor project was supposed to cost $1.96bn , they chose to prioritize the Niger republic own over Our own internal rail system. Now they say there's no funds for the eastern corridor. Smh |

So the SIEMENS electrification project that OasisX and GloriousGbola won't let us rest would be completed in 2030? Like 7 years from today? |

izzou:You have missed it oo I have always been about Liberalisation Which is completely different from the Siemens electrification project The Siemens electrification project is an example of Buhari and Co being stuck in the past and focused on centralization. It focused on the national grid. As it is, with liberalisation the importance of that project will significantly diminish as most states do not need the national grid. Which does need repairs but will not be as critical in a liberalised power sector Imho, the govt should explore downgrading the project. From a project management perspective the value from it has been eroded. Make I stop here in case forgotten receipt dey |

BlueRayDick:This is false. They did not choose to prioritize Niger republic own over the eastern corridor rail. After the SE legislators rose against the eastern corridor rail line in the name of Buhari is selling our sovereignty to China, the Chinese withdrew from the project and FG had to start looking for another concessionaire to fund the project. The last I heard of the project was negotiation witha US company but that's all we've heard of it before election and campaign started. The Kano - Maradi line was proposed afterwards. That you don't like Buhari doesn't mean you should turn facts on its head. If anything SE legislators led by Senator Abariabe should take the largest portion of whatever blame you want to dish out. They were the ones that used their region to play politics. |

larride:If I understand what u are saying here: 1. Buhari wanted to construct eastern corridor rail line 2. Abaribe and other eastern senators protested against it (This u inferred from the senators cautioning against Buhari taking chinese loans which has turned out badly for some African countries in the long run) 3. The Chinese didn't fund the project eventually and Buhari abandoned it. 4. Later Kano - Niger Republic rail line project was proposed and somehow they were able to get funding for the project ( Not from China but from German banks and other EU agencies) Now let me put it staright to u here and now. Buhari obviously took the advice of dem Abaribe which was a reasonable one, then proceeded to source for funds elsewhere only to use it to fund a project to Niger republic. All the shalaye u've done up there is nothing but u actually indicting Buhari further for what I have accused him of. U didn't absolve him in any way. Die this talk of anybody hating anybody, na those kind talks make Buhari use 8 years spoil this country while u guys were cheering him on. |

BlueRayDick:Like I said before, it's not compulsory for you to like Buhari but you shouldn't twist fact. After the Chinese pulled out of the project in 2017, the govt began to source for funds for the project and was able to get Standard Chartered Bank to agree to fund the $11bn last year. If the legislators had not pulled the prank they did, the Lagos - Calabar project might be nearing completion. If you think finance for a $11bn project is easy to come by especially as Covid changed everything, you will know the fault of this project lies with the legislators. Buhari didnt prioritize Kano - Maradi project over the eastern corridor rail and I stand by it. To say he did was false. |

Those who still argue Nigerian sociopolitical issues against unrepentant Buharists-turn-Maize-runners are probably the most devoted kind of patriots any country can ever have. The steadfastness is continuing to make people bashed and battered by the cruel system whose custodians they grovel at the very base in hopes of getting crumb leftovers from the pets who are closer to the table than them is one I'd admire if channeled any other way. This isn't Stockholm Syndrome. It's worse. There's a name for it you and I can't define yet. And it's scary. I'd rather just unusually post "Favour me and family" memes in response, because the truth is, I can't understand that level of devotion to one's suppressors/oppressors. Now we at least understand how the colonial masters were able to get our kinsmen to suppress and justify the cruelty to our ancestors. Slavery would never have been possible without collaborators. Buhari and Tinubu wouldn't get away with plunging the country further into ruins if they didn't have accomplices from within and amongst us, the exploited. Imagine defending Buhari's reckless wastage of our dwindling Commonwealth months after he retired to enjoy the loot? Heck! Borrowed wealth?! |

larride:SE legislators did not stop the Eastern rail. stop spreading fake news. People like RT hon PAT ASADU & ABARIBE asked legitimate questions. They said why will FG propose a STandard rail project in the WEST & norTh, even another standard rail line from Kano~maradi but want to build narrow gauge rail in the EAStern corridor? The minister did not answer. They demanded to know the terms & condition of the loan... The minister did not provide it. They even started work @ the site. All of a sudden we heard that work has stopped c0x of lack of fund |

liveLongNprospa:I dont waste my time on people that couldn't even be bothered to do basic research. FG just signed Niger to Maradi rail line MOU this year Jan 2023 is what he/she is claiming Abariabe and his brothers were asking about in 2017. What a joke |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 1:15pm On Aug 08, 2023 |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:You are saying rubbish. In 2017 when the Eastern Corridor rail was suppose to start, theres nothing like Kano to Maradi rail line. Kano to Maradi hasn't even started, MOU was just signed this January. The Kano to Maradi line will start from where the Ibadan to Kano route will stop from. If the minister which was Amaechi didnt answer, how did they know the content of the document to start raising the issue of sovereignty or not? It is the PH to Maiduguri line that is narrow gauge, not the proposed Lagos to Calabar railline that is STANDARD GUAGE. If you dont have any knowledge about anything, a simple google search should save you the embarrassment. Keep making excuses for your leaders who have decided to play politics with your region so they can continue to use it to win elections. Lagos to Ibadan was proposed and funded without SW stalling the project, Ibadan to Kano has started, both the SW and the region it will pass through to get to Kano didnt stall the project also, by God's grace it will be completed soon. It is when it gets to the Lagos to Calabar line that your legislators start attacking the project so they can have something to blame Buhari for. Dont hold your leaders accountable, continue to make excuses for them. Na you sabi. |
