And many did not, and there were a lot of losses then.

And I think you can make your point without being so condescending and abusive.

Yes I have to be abusive because idiots like you do not have any self respect and value for your time or quality of life. Imagine 10 years of progress gone and you're still making excuses.

I would have left you idiots to keep rotting from the bad decisions you defend if they didn't also affect me and the people I care about.

If only we could dump your kind on another planet to enjoy the mediocrity and squalor you defend on a daily basis.

I like people like you who speak objectively even when they don't like the people or parties involved. All over the world, there were supply chain disruptions during the COVID-19 saga. In this instance, SIEMENS is right to be talking about an extension since both parties could not have foreseen the pandemic that prevented the contract execution. Constructive criticism is good but we should not be condemning everything without basis.

Covid lasted for just two years. They should come up with a better excuse.

So covid-19 that didn't last a year will cause a 5 year extension?

They can't try this nonsense in another country without paying heavily .
Covid was less than 2 years and if that is factored into the project the phase first should be completed ever since.

LOL

We Nigerians, many of us do not pay our power bills on time, both government and people. Also, for years the power sector was forced to charge low bills to let the poor breathe. Add the massive stealing of power....and it is no wonder the power sector does not work

And you are here blaming WEF 2030 kini? The same white people that would even prefer a WORKING POWER SECTOR for the developed world because it means more markets, more cheap labour and ultimately more money for them...?

And their racist geng want black people to stay out of their countries...and if they can be kept occupied here...

Do you have the same kind of issues with internet and cell phone service that you do with power? No...because you PAY THEM AT THE PRICE THEY SET. As such, they can make money and huge profits to fix, upgarde, and fix things...and even pay for things like 5G. Or is WEF so silly as to focus only on power, and not on communications?

The reason why many white countries have good power supply is because the power sector sets their price and people pay at that price and if you steal power, you go to jail. If you bypass your meter, you go to jail. (Heck, their BBC in the UK is looking so good, because every TV owner in the UK pays tv licensing fees...and if you no pay, na jail). In Nigeria, we hail people who chase NEPA workers with cutlass and sticks as heroes...and then we come and wonder why we have no light. When those people who are chasing the NEPA workers are stealing power with impunity...and causing the sector to run at a loss.

If they no pay you, una go work?

I just realised that line in the first anthem was satirically prophetic.

It took Siemens less than 3 years to complete a similar project in Egypt, but its like Nigeria's case file submitted to heaven have been used to buy akara.
The sad truth is that even the projected 7 years is merely a mirage. Siemens may just pack up and go... Light we no go see.

Lugard, if Nigerians ever wish you RIP, just know the P sparogatively doesn't mean Peace.
The govt in Egypt knows what will happen if they don't deliver.

Siemens completed the delivery of 14000MW in 27 months from 2016-2018

Executing 14.4 GW of fossil power generation based on combined cycle configuration on a fast-track basis over two phases: phase 1 for up to 4.4 GW in an open cycle configuration by the end of 2016; and phase 2 for up to 14.4 GW in a combined cycle configuration in 2018.

But I trust jagaban the master strategist, the tamer of the Atlantic ocean to also strategise and tame electricity.

This extra 7yrs shall favor me and my family grin

There is a strong local and international cabal that wants to keep Nigeria from having uninterrupted power and local refining of our crude oil.

This cabal is determined that we must continue importing all our fuels and consuming these fuels to run our vehicles and electric generators.

And that cabal, is what your President Buhari couldn't handle and now Ebola is on same path. You can imagine how an employee is more powerful than his Boss

Deadlines don't work here... Forget that covid19 gist, Siemens is trying to sound politically correct...... The main reason the project is stalling is corruption.

Now it's tilumbu's boys that are in charge, they too will find a way to exploit the project to their advantage.

And if nothing is done to put checks on the brazen corrupt tendencies of our politicians, Siemens might get very angry one day and quit the project.

Who and who are in this cabal?

Can you pls name them?

I mean a vast capitalist conspiracy involving international suppliers who want to retain their foolish customer, their many middlemen, and their local enablers in Nigeria.

Their names are not unknown.

Just get the data of those whose petroleum products we buy, their country's government who are happy that their citizens are employed in European refineries that supply a top Oil producing country whose refineries never work despite all funds expended.

Get the data of all the players in the value chain until the fuels get to the depots in Nigeria.

If there is a "local cabal", then you should know their names. Pls what are their names?

You also said "Their names are not unknown".

Then kindly answer the questions....
