Well if the Chinese had not withdrawn from the rail project, it will be nearing completion by now.

I won’t fault senators for raising alarm…. That’s their job anyways but the alarm raised is why the project didn’t go on.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUAZwsZMFXU
The guy in the video didn’t say anything different from the normal beer parlor gist . The good thing is he was reasonable to have been using words like “ may have “, “might have been the reason “, “could’ve been the reason “…. thereby showing he was making a big guess

In the early part of the video he was saying Amaechi confirmed they didn’t sign any sovereignty clause and the Chinese also clarified they didn’t have any motive to take over our national assets….. Then in the middle of the video he explained excatly what the fear of the lawmakers were as what that sovereignty clause guarantees for the Chinese .

The guy made a lot of conjectures as to the most likely reasons why the Chinese pulled out and the “uproar “ angle was the less convincing reasons amongst what he came up with.

I bet if the guy was here on nairaland and we ask him to make it make sense like izzou was doing yesterday evening , he will end up repeating these conjecture hundreds of times without actually proving anything to us.

He even said maybe the reason the Chinese pulled out was cos they are not used to having opposition ask questions in their one party state .

The unfortunate thing in all of this is the fact that for most of Buhari’s tenure we the people accused the senate of being a rubber stamp legislature . The only time they asked questions with the motive of getting full details of what they are signing-on on behalf of the people , we are making conjectures saying maybe that’s why the Chinese pulled out.

The question is , don’t the legislative arms in the saner climes ask the executives questions and even warn them about the implications of some agreements/contracts they sign with foreign entities ?

You're almost as slow as Buhari we hoped you would be different from. You came and made Buhari looks like an angel.

In as much as I'm not losing hope on you totally, please do well to find your way out and stop making life difficult for us if you have no idea how to tackle the challenges.

I will be among the first 10 people that will tackle you if you are useless. This is too much now!!! Haba!!! undecided undecided undecided

Whatever argument u have in Favour of military action in Niger , this professor has addressed it in his interview with Reuben Abati.

The man even make bold that the north will not support any military action . Take ur time to watch this without a biased mind .

You are quite objective in your review........I don't know how to explain that the fight for survival is beyond party affiliations..

He said he will reduce the dollar rate and I believed some here keyed into the vision and many more..

How they turn around to say dollar rise is actually a good thing still baffles me..

The slavery is beyond d slave trade of the olden days......

Emancipation from this mental retardation is beyond them as long as it is Tinubu.....

Firm that what?

Does living a fake life on borrowed money sound like positivity to you?

A bad economic policies was stopped and I’m happy for it.

All sensible economists, both global and domestic agree with me.
A bad economic policy was stopped and what was done to ensure that we plug the gaps to take advantage of that stop.

This is almost like buhari closing border to boost local production and yet fvcking it up through implementation.
As usual it is easy to "stop" oya show workings and yet nothing till now.

Do you know how many people have further gotten poorer in just 2 months?

I saw a post where you said something like where does FX rank in issues we can face in a country like Nigeria and I realize you are just a gum body economist 😁.

Yunno the sweetest part, e sure me die say as you dey like this.. You dey see shege, your family members dey see shege and people around you dey see shege one way or the other🤭.

I’m sorry but you are not making sense.

Good economic policy and Nigeria border closure in the same sentence shows how shallow your knowledgeable on the matter is.

Always resist the urge to give takes on topic you have little knowledge on.

It’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

It’s a simple question.

If you are the president of Nigeria, and you are giving 350 Million dollar. Will you invest the money in education, health or security or will you use the money to start defending the Naira?

Are you okay? Doesn't that tell you that our implementation is always a problem.
Why is it that when you guys want to defend rubbish, your ability to use your sense suddenly goes out the window.

It's that time you want every single thing to be absolutely spot on and of which you'll still rather die than admit there is a problem.

So the border closure now and everything that went with it as an example is suddenly so different from this? If I call you dumb it will be like I am insulting you and yet you are showing that you cannot at the very least use your sense when it comes to defending politicians.

Reuben quoted section 5 of the 1999 constitution subsection 5 which states:

(5) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (4) of this section, the President, in consultation with the National Defence Council, may deploy members of the armed forces of the Federation on a limited combat duty outside Nigeria if he is satisfied that the national security is under imminent threat or danger:

Provided that the President shall, within seven days of actual combat engagement, seek the consent of the Senate and the Senate shall thereafter give or refuse the said consent within 14 days.
That means Tinubu can claim Nigeria's national security is under threat and still deploy our troops ; then sought ratification of the legislature within 14 days later.

I don't know why some people find it difficult to criticise and demand for better policies from the govt of the day irrespective party affilliation. People are groaning and you're more concerned with Niger wahala. Ah just dy look the man with one eye.......

My churchy guy dy consider yahoo due to too much hunger. Funnily enough, this is a corper wey dy receive stipends every month but......but..... He is damn frustrated that he feels His God has abandoned him.

Stop saying this thing bro. Even Tinubu admitted those policies are hard policies. Tinubu is not even defending this but he said these are policies that will reposition the country in time to come. I pray so. He even promised to intervene in the FX market. Is hard to see a country that freely float her currency without any form of control from the government.

Something you can buy for 10 Naira yesterday is going for a higher price today without increase in your income, is that not some level of hardship?

NB PLC will increase prices of their products tomorrow, both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Did you see their net loss on FX transaction?

See Lipton, I gave the woman 50 Naira for that small tea bag yesterday. The woman said is 60 Naira now. I was angry despite the 10 Naira difference. Beverages price don increase for market. This prices might go even higher.
