> Be the EU
> Instead of sending your own to die, get dumb African negroes to fight and die for you instead
> Secure your own national interests in the region via natural gas pipeline to lessen your reliance on Russian gas
> Profit

Nigeria makes up 80% of the funding and troops to ECOWAS, need to get the NASS to reject the invasion of Niger. Sanctions are already crippling Niger's economy and skyrocketing food inflation, why invade? The regime will naturally crumble by itself. If the EU wants war, then they can go and die instead of using us like puppets.

That doesn't mean I'm for Wagner either, they can piss off too.

This not about EU, it's about preserving democracy in Africa.

No moral justification to excuse a coup in this era. If left unchecked, it's will jeopardize democracy in Africa and bring the continent back to the dark ages.

I don't see it as being anybody's puppet, but doing the right thing the wrong way. Instead of threatening to chase the Nigerien junta out of power, why not reach an agreement with him on the number of days he will be in power and conduct a fresh election? Afterwards, he will step aside and allow another civilian government continue.

My biggest concern is that Nigeriens seem to like what happened, which begs the question, "What type of government do the people really want?" The truth is, as far as West Africa is concerned, it seems military rule works better. In fact, the best projects we have in Nigeria were done under the military.

Funny how they didn't invade Mali, Guinea, Chad, or Burkina Faso if it was really about "preserving" democray in the region. Ironically enough, they are still under Junta military dictatorships and ECOWAS has done nothing about. They are threatening Niger because of the gas pipeline that runs through Niger and connects up with Europe. It has everything to do with Europe.

Russian Nordstream gaspipes was blown up in the sea recently by the west. The gas pipeline from Nigeria via Niger is the EU's only hope. The fact you can't see the connection with this coup and them not caring about the other coups from the examples I gave says alot.

When will you guys stop fixating about projects?

BTW, the "people" don't love the military.
They love the military or civilian who belong to their ethnic group.
