Each serving senator received not less than N2 million as allowance before proceeding on seven weeks of vacation, PREMIUM TIMES can report.

A senator who requested not to be named because he was not authorised by the upper house to speak on the matter confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES that all the 109 senators were paid the allowance for the holidays, which commenced on Monday and ends on 26 September.

A calculation done by PREMIUM TIMES showed that the senators were paid a total of N218 million, having received N2 million each to enjoy the vacation.

The bank alerts were received by the senators on 8 August, just before the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced it.

So Nigerians should adjust and endure the suffering, while politicians should be favoured with humongous allowance to cushion the effect of the economy.

Unless Nigerians unite together to for a common goal, else these politicians will keep using tribalism to divide us and we keep suffering.

The #2 million, if true, is a bonus. It seems like a huge amount to the masses but it would not amount to much for a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. You should into account the cost of transport back to their respective constituencies and their aides also.

Besides, all senators, regardless of party, collected it. Before some people start saying things in the name of opposition.
