I am so very grateful. Everything you said is just what I needed to know. First of all a big hearty congrats, the gap between your two results shows that you really put in the hardwork. I also got my results yesterday and sadly I am yet to make B2 in two components. EE -B2+, CE- B2-, CO -B1 and EO -B1.
I can not say I am too disappointed because after a 10yr gap, it is somewhat encouraging that I could even make it to that 1 B2+. In retrospect my CO was not upto par because of a system glitch too. And just like in your case, the examiners said that its completely normal and should not have any effect on my performance. I was issued a new candidate number only for the CO as the entire thing stuck for 10 minutes and so I had to restart that particular test. I wonder if there is a possibility that results could get mixed up because my placement test put me at B2 for CO. My tutor was also surprised that I got B1 because he felt that CO was where my strength lied. Oh well.
Ha ha ha, the EO was just like in your case. I have never known 5 minutes to be so long in my whole entire life. The examiner literally had to tell me, "vous n'avez pas d'autres questions?" ... The section B now, 10 minutes of lethal brutality to other people's language.. The struggle is real. . Anyway that's that for round 1.

With that said, I am also to resit the paper, probably this September to try and get the ideal scores. I feel 2-10 points is not worth updating on my profile because the last draw saw a cutoff of 435 (2 august 2023 Express entry French draw). With my current CRS it will be a waste of time adding the 10 or so points.
Thanks for the advise for virtual immersion, I am on it with immediate effect. I agree that this time around the tutor will only be guiding because, as you so rightly put it, we have laid down all the groundwork.

All in CE. Two long texts were repeated and one "fill in the blanks ". If you do enough past papers you are bound to come across atleast one repetition. I also came across them in the past papers I tried and just thought it was an error. But as it turns out, they are also repeated (by chance) in the official exam.
The repeated questions awarded me atleast 5 free answers. I came across a youtube chanel for morocco tef and tcf exams, it was an absolute gold mine. Another case in point is that sometimes they repeat questions from TCF exams so don't only stick to practising TEF questions. I can not remember the youtube channel offhand but if you need it, I can search and get back to you.
Thanks for the well wishes, I have not yet restarted studying, busy with personal matters but I should in about a week. As such i would be grateful for any advice from your and others personal experience.

Just in case you didn't know this; the province of Ontario has a French category also (PNP), which means another added opportunity for validated French speakers (having scored more than 450 points in all the tests of the TEF exams).

Yes, I believe it's possible. Why? Because we have testimonials right here on this thread.
But will it be possible for your person to do it in 10 months? That will be totally up to him and his learning rate. 10 months is a good time to put in full-time energy.

As for the school, the issue with Alliance Française (AF) used to be the speed of their classes, it was slow for some. I believe they have solved that with accelerated classes for people who need a faster pace, and honestly, it probably doesn't get better with a foundation from AF.

For the tutor, this seems like the best option to me, one-on-one sessions, no distractions, no sharing of the time with other learners, tailored teaching. It might be more expensive and it's more than important to get the right tutor off the bat.
The "wrong" tutor will be detrimental even.
So if he gets a good tutor, and is willing to do the work...

If you have Sterling or Wema Bank MasterCard or Visa Card, you can use them.

Most Nigerian bank cards have stopped international transactions, as far as I know. However, there are some companies which allow you to load a virtual dollar debit card. You would have to search online as I don't know any company that I can recommend to you.

Another option is to open a domiciliary account (dollar account) with GTB and request for a dollar Mastercard.

Side Note: For anyone intending to take the TEF exams, I am still available to help you with tutoring and guidance.

You initiate a transfer from your microfinance Bank account to your commercial bank account bearing the same name. Your documentation will include the statement of account of the microfinance Bank showing the details of the transfer.

-Attend a good language school to get a solid foundation
-Get a tutor when you feel more proficient
-You have to do the bulk of the work so make time for self study and practice

Is it true that TEF format is about to change? And if so what are the changes we are likely to encounter. Please anyone with reliable information on TEF exam format change.

From what I gathered they will no longer have 60 questions in 40 minutes for Comprehension Orale. It will be 40 questions in 40 minutes. they will not use the section A,B,C and D format as we know it, instead they will use real recordings from tv5 monde, RFI and France 24. So one can no longer cram but must understand the recording and answer accordingly.

For comprehension ecrite , there will also be changes. Less number of questions but more long text questions.
The changes are said to take effect in October 2023.
Anyone with more information, please share
