Please, can someone help me look into this quotation.

Panels: STC,Rubbitec or Flames
Battery: Tubular (Addo or Houston)

This is to be used by a shop that runs from 8am-8pm and the total calculated load is 3.4kva
this quote looks crappy to me
which non hybrid 5kva inverter is 525k, 120A solar charge controller 200k. 10kwh fake capacity lithium battery 1.650m, fake tier 3 panels 85k each grin
go for a good 5kva hybrid inverter with inbuilt 120A CC around 400k/450k,real capacity 10kwh lithium battery is around 1.7m/1.8m, go for 10pcs original jinko 425w panels at around 125k each

Quickly isssolate / seperate the battery with much lower voltage and charge it seperately.
When it fulls, add load seperately to it and watch how quickly it drops. that should give a simple idea if it's bad or not.

dacool1:

try to charge them separately, see if there is an improvement but the 10v battery is likely shorted

Thank you for your input

Its a 24V inverter.

How do i do put load on it without connecting to the inverter?

Thank you

You only need to enable it if you are using tubular batteries. What is your battery chemistry?

Then you need to enable it. It is required at least once per month for about 4 hours.

Valto is right. The quote is over- inflated. The installer want to build house on your pocket.

I bought interlight 220ah tubular battery for 137k last month (I was given discount as I also bought smarten 2.5kva inverter there). Even on this thread, they are advertised max 155k .... I'm seeing 180k for Tubular battery on your list.. Except the extra 30k is for transport per battery if you're not in Lagos cheesy

Please I just noticed today that my charge controller is reading panel input voltage of 24v this night, has anyone witness this before and what could cause this.

There are a few possible causes of your MPPT solar charge controller having some voltage at night:

*A reverse diode failure
The reverse diode is a component in the MPPT charge controller that prevents current from flowing back from the battery to the solar panels at night. If the reverse diode fails, current will flow back to the solar panels, which can cause the voltage to rise.

A wiring fault

If the wiring between the MPPT charge controller and the solar panels is faulty, it can cause current to flow back to the solar panels at night. This can also cause the voltage to rise.

Ambient light.

Even at night, there is usually some ambient light present. This light can be enough to generate a small amount of current in the solar panels, which can cause the voltage to rise.

To troubleshoot the problem, you can try the following steps:

1. Check the reverse diode for signs of failure. The reverse diode is usually located on the back of the MPPT charge controller. It is a small component with two leads. If the diode is blackened or cracked, it is likely failed.

2. Check the wiring between the MPPT charge controller and the solar panels for any faults. Make sure that all of the connections are tight and that there are no broken wires.

3. Measure the voltage at the solar panel terminals at night. If the voltage is higher than 0 volts, there is a problem.

If you have checked all of the above and you are still having problems, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the MPPT charge controller for further assistance.

Here are some additional tips to help prevent voltage problems at night:

Make sure that the MPPT charge controller is properly sized for your solar panel array. A charge controller that is too small will not be able to regulate the voltage properly.

Use high-quality wiring between the MPPT charge controller and the solar panels. Cheap wiring can be more prone to faults.

Install a blocking diode in series with the solar panels. This will prevent current from flowing back to the solar panels at night.

Shield the solar panels from ambient light. This will help to reduce the amount of current that is generated in the panels at night.

This last point is if you have so much time in your hands. grin

You have good intentions, but you are giving Puvo a dangerous advice. Over 90% of batteries in the market these days are fake. He is better off buying based on recommendation over there in his State or buy from a trusted seller/dealer here in Lagos and have it waybilled to him, than buying a fake battery and having to get it replaced after 6 - 9months.

I will suggest to buy battery locally as much as practicable. For people living in Uyo, it is easier to return failed battery to supplier in Uyo than in Lagos.
