President Tinubu And CBN Governor, Please Leave Diasporans Remittances Alone!!!! by Physicist(m): 2:37am On Aug 15, 2023 |
President Tinubu and CBN Governor, Please Leave Diasporans' Remittances Alone!!!! I suspect President Tinubu in connivance with the CBN Governor may want to force Diasporans’ remittances to be received in Naira. This is a wicked idea. Buhari administration mandated remittances to be received in Naira in the early stage of its first term, but the administration later reversed the decision. Diasporans worked hard for their money that they send to their family members or friends in Nigeria. Diasporans are not responsible for the free fall of the Naira. Rich Nigerians and their family members, whether through legal or illegal means are the people that take the hard-earned Dollars and other foreign currencies in Nigeria to buy multiple million dollars properties abroad. They are the ones that stash the funds in multiple foreign accounts. If you blame Nigerians that they import too much stuff, why can’t the Federal government ensures 24 hour electricity supply, good roads, and good infrastructures. This will enable Nigeria to produce some of the stuffs it imports. President Tinubu, and CBN Governor, please leave Diasporans’ remittances alone!!!!!!!. 3 Likes |

The biggest Chief importer that demands and consumes over 70% of the dollars is FG's NNPC Ltd that imports petrol daily instead of refining. If FG stops importing Petrol.. Dollar will crash Against the Naira 11 Likes 1 Share |

Physicist: That will worsen the dollar scarcity in Nigeria, send demands to the sky and create a deadly inflation. They would be too dumb to follow that pathway. |

ecolime:The worst is the leaders are not serious Bunch. To imagine Buhari commissioned a refinery which hasn't produced a drop of water for almost two months after the shambolic commissioning speaks volume. Now, on this inaugural speech the " New Man" removed subsidy, the hope to sustain a smooth sail was if local refineries were optimal but almost three months into the administration or maladminstration, nothing. While 3months might be too short a time, it's enough time to know the direction of this nation owing to the dire situation we are in. 1 Like |

thisisit: Forget all this talk, what happened to all the many private modular refineries that so-called Nigerian business men and women have been building? Why didn't anyone complete their refineries so that they could have been refining now and creating jobs and possibly be selling also to neighboring nations and bringing in the much needed FX. |

So Buhari alone that went all out to ensure that Dangote refinery is a success should take the blame for the 8 years failure of Obasanjo 8 years failure of Yardua / Ebele 8 years failure Buhari For failure of Nigeria to have a functional refinery ? The way many of you people reason I swear your head need to be flogged mercilessly Greyworld: 1 Like |

EcoNews: Mr. Man think before you talk. Did any of the past president yu mentioned commission an incomplete refinery? While he alone won't be blamed but his administration made available millions of dollars for a private refinery which he commissioned and is even not complete. |

Name one country that allows you to withdraw naira from its bank. Not only this. Federal government MDAs should stop collecting revenues in foreign currency. |

Who knows if this federal government and the elites scam Nigerian where by Dongote will be refining secretly and be selling at import rate. Maybe that made him to collect license for importation. How can u explain somebody that his refinary was lunched the next thing was to collect import permit.. Greyworld: 1 Like |

To show that you must have been given birth to by a foolish father. Nigeria as a problem for close to 30 years 3 president passed with taking a single look at the problem. The 4 that came after those 3 gave money in support of solving the problem and that same on is the one your foolish soul think should be crucified before the refinery production date is delayed. I swear many of you lunatics deserve to be beaten to death in upper iweka because how can a country grow with this multitude of foolish bastards like you. Greyworld: |

lizko:Now this is a man who thinks not some fools who would rather blame every body except themselves. It is not logical after investing billions of dollars on a project for over 5years to start meddling with importation of the same product. |

It's actually a great idea to save naira because Nigeria no longer has foreign reserves to back the naira. Neither do we have enough export. At this point anything that can save naira is well worth it. We can't have naira free fall to N2,000/$1. The strength of naira is all that matters. Wanting to destroy naira because you send money home is selfish, if you get N750 to $1 is more than enough and that should be where it should be from CBN to parallel market. President Tinubu will do what is good for Nigeria, this is his administration and we are behind him. Physicist: |

Physicist: I am a diasporan and if d government stops us receiving our monies in our dollar accounts, I would personally stop sending what I am sending to Nigeria on a monthly basis. Secondly it is in good principle , as I also send money to Namibia too, they do not have domiciary accounts, all funds from abroad are received in Namibian dollars. And they have only 1 rate, i asked what is the black market rate they told me it doesn’t exist. So I was surprised. |

wowcatty, wowcatty:How do I destroy Naira by sending Dollars to Nigeria? What is selfishness in making sure my beneficiaries receive the Dollars that I send to them? Why should the Government or whosoever be getting part of my money that i send home? Why should I be responsible for the ineptitude of the Nigerian Government? Have you ever asked yourself the honest question of the reason a country of more than 200 million people does not have a working and functioning refinery that can refine at least 100,000 barrels per day? I was in that same Nigeria when population was less than 100 million people, and there were functioning and major refineries located in Kaduna, Warri and Port Harcourt. It is stupid and wicked to me that the Federal Government will take part of my remittances home. Many of these top government officials and their families have millions of dollars whether legally or illegally acquired. You mentioned that Nigeria no longer has foreign reserves. I can assure you that ill gotten wealth taken out of Nigeria is more than the remittances Nigeria Diasporans send home. Think about Abacha's loots. Think also about other loots. 1 Like |

Greed is what it's called when you want to exchange dollar for anything over $750 when it was just N500 recently and then turn around and complain that naira is weak. You just can't have it both ways. This is president Tinubu's administration and he get to set the policy. This is needed to save the economy. The currency of Nigeria is naira and this has to be done to save it. I couldn't read past the first line, I just know that it's repetition. Physicist: |
