2005? Goodluck Ebele Jonathan? Is OP on Meth?

Skyview01:
It was in 2005 and I was working working for this company in the Audit & Tax department in Lagos. I like the company no be small and me and my guy who i shall call Peter for the sake of this story, were colleagues in the same department.
In 2005, I had been with company for about four years.

My friend Peter was already anxious and looking for better opportunities outside and he started submitting his resume like Deeperlife crusade handbills upandan.

He had applied for this position in this oil and gas company in Lagos and was never called for an interview.
Luckily, he was offered a job as a manager in the Finance department at Lafarge in Oregun.

Me, I was not looking for any job as I was already pissed off with Nigeria and looking for ways to Japa. I had applications at the UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, and Denmark embassies.
Long story short, l was never looking for a job at the time.

One cool afternoon, I was sitting at my office and minding my own damn business na so the phone started ringing, I picked up the phone and asked who it was, the guy on the other end identified himself as a foreign recruiter and called to invite Peter for an interview in that oil and gas company he had applied.

I told the recruiter "Too late, Peter is now working at Lafarge and would not be interested in your job anymore"

I was about to drop the phone and go about my business when the recruiter said,

" What about you?, you are a Chartered Accountant yourself and work in the same office with Peter and we always like to hire people from your company"

Can you come for an interview the recruiter asked?

For what position, I shot back?

Oil and gas accountant, he replied, and can you come with your cv next week Tuesday.

I was taken aback since looking for a job did not cross my mind at the time and my focus was to get out of a Goodluck Ebele Jonathan mismanaged country.

Na so yours truly went for the interview, was offered the job, and resumed within one month.

That was one funny way I landed a good job without even looking for a job. I worked there for more than five years before the japa spirit took over again and I later resigned and left the country.

Later on, I will write about how I missed an opportunity to get a job at the Central Bank.

Can you tell us your story of strange circumstances you landed a good job?

Story for the gods. You should have at least informed your friend before stealing the offer. It was his decision to make, not yours. For the fact that you didn't consult your friend shows how evil you are. What goes around, comes around. Enjoy.

Ok.

It was in 2021, I travelled to an African country to do business with my uncle after I got sacked from my job the previous year.

I arrived in March 2021, and started the biz with my uncle. I became friends with another guy in our line from a neighbouring African country.

He got a new phone around May same year, but was skeptical in using the phone because of his data and contacts in the old phone. To make matters worst, he has forgotten his email password and the phone he used for recovery was his home country number which he's no longer using.

I'm blessed with figuring out passwords grin
I asked him his full names and home phone numbers, he listed all for me. I crossed the Ts and dot the i and viola! I got the password. cheesy

I syncronized his contacts with his email, moved his files and contacts to the new phone and the guy ran mad grin cheesy. I became an IT guru to him. He recommended me to his bro that is setting up an IT company in the country, by September 2021 we talked on phone and I got employed.

I left the business that brought me to the country, even left the country but still works for this company online.

It's more of miraculous than strange to me though.

It definitely sounds too good to be true and seems like a miracle. Thank you for sharing!

I pray never to have a friend like you. You are fully aware that your friend is ready to jump ship for a better offer, yet an opportunity came and you became the devil. This is why I advise people never to use friends and family, or former co-workers as references. They don't have your best interest at heart.

I know right? I honestly do not blame the dude, we are, most of the time, a product of our environments in thinking so i do not blame him for the arrival of such a conclusion.

.

Nope. started working in oil and gas in 2006. I am not hung up on the date's accuracy and I will go check my initial write-up if I got my dates mixed up, I will correct it if I have the time.

I left the company in March 2012. In my earlier company, I worked from 2002 to 2006. I am not looking to be believed as I have no need for that as I am not Jesus Christ.

I am fine with any conclusion you arrive at my friend. It means nothing to me if I am believed or not. The main reason for writing about my past is to develop my writing skills as I have a target to publish two books in my field before the 2023 year-end. I would love to lie and come up with those stories and events above but I am not that good. In the future, I hope to create fictions and things that never happened.

That wasn't the story you told. You wanted to japa while on the first job. That was when you mentioned Goodluck Jonathan. You left the job to the oil company and worked for another five years before you finally left the country in 2012 according to your story. So do your maths and tell me you are not lying/fraud

Yep. The stories may be all lies and made up.

I personally think the op may be making up bogus stories and you may have a point. I honestly never knew we still have brilliant people like yourself in NL.

Kudos and shame on the op for lying to the NL community.
