Learnt about the high prevalence of twinning here when a friend was @ Baptist facility in the Igbora town some years ago. What a fortunate fest for them. Great bless Mary Scellesor for her persistence towards the eradication of killing twins in Nigeria.

That's not true. Yoruba was not killing twins. In fact we have veneration for twin god called òrìṣà ibeji. Triplets birth dated back to about 1000 BCE before Odùduwà ilé ìfẹ́ known as ẹta Òkò

Igbo means bush, just like Ikot in Akwa Ibom.
Some places in the west with mountains and hills will have Oke, while those with rivers will have Odo

Thanks for this. I was about to correct that impression. Twin killing wasn't a national issue, it was location (Akwa Cross) specific then.

mary slessor only help end killing of twins in less than 10 villages in the akwa cross region not the entire Nigeria . Majority of the tribes that made up Nigeria were not killing twins

In the olden days yoruba don't farm in the main town, they farm somewhere close outside the main city.
These farms are called igbo and the name of the people that farm there is added.
Like Igbo Ora, it means farm of the Ora people.
Ijebu Igbo, farm of the ijebu people, ijebu ode means the city of the ijebu people
