Are the investments not part of the nation?

And its the Police that should guard the waterways?

So you don't know that we have marine police?
The primary duty of the navy is to protect the nation and every other thing, but the report shows that they are being set up primarily to protect investors investments.

But every seaport has a Naval base closeby.

Yes... My problem is the corruption. There's naval base in pH that almost share fence with a bunkery offloading and lifting point. Your guess is as good as mine.

That means Dangote refinery will soon have Navy base too

Do you even know Atlantic ocean?

Someone from a landlocked place without access to the sea is asking me if I know the Atlantic ocean. I don suffer.

Are you aware that the only time your ancestors saw the Atlantic ocean was when they were selling them off as slaves?

Naval officers have disgraced Nigeria severally in the Niger Delta. Were they not the ones escorting a tanker of stolen crude the other time.

Marine police do not fight terrorism. The threat to the EPZ is not from common criminals but from sea borne terrorism. There is a large physical police station in the EPZ.

We don’t want the northerners anymore.
All they do is give birth like rabbits and turn their children to beggars, scavengers who destroy public properties just to find metals to scale, etc.
Our GDP had been beaten to stupor because of these people.
Let them go!

Ignorance is not an excuse. Learn before you display your ignorance to the general public..

JURISDICTION AND FUNCTIONS of Marine Police

The Marine Section generally conducts security combat and anti-crime operations on the Territorial Inland Waters, (measured from the inward limits of the coastal waterways from the fairway buoy), Ports, and Harbours. The section sometimes enjoys incursion extending into the Continental shelf and the Exclusive Economic Zone (E.E.Z) when it is conducting hot pursuit and chases. The basic and ancillary powers and authority of the section are from the Constitution of the Federal Republic, the Police Act, and various Acts and legislation.

You haven't heard of Marine Police?

Headed by a CP in Lagos?

I expected this response. What the Naval command is doing is within the constitutional guidelines for their roles in defending the waterways. It doesn't override the marine police's duties, but rather complement.

All these show how favoured, both divine and temporal, Lagos has been. All these show that the state of Lagos today isn't the result of any man (least BAT's) strategic thinking and planning.

With the resources abundant in Lagos; with the massive investments by the Federal Government of our commonwealth in Lagos; with her strategic positioning, a truly strategic thinker would have taken Lagos to much greater heights than her current state. But alas! In true administrative terms, orderliness and quality of life, we still can't compare her to any of the major cities in Africa, not to talk of those outside the continent.

We have already seen Fashola's rocket science claims about electricity generation blown out; we're currently witnessing Tinubu's acclaimed administrative sagacity being questioned by all and sundry...

Lagos is divinely blessed but your state is cursed bah? You are insinuating whatever is done is Lagos would yield positive result but no matter what is done in your state would not yield result?

Look at how you out of hatred portray your state as a barren land that nature abhor.

I would pray that your state will blossom and flourish like Lagos is doing, whoever govern it will make a positive change and you inhabitant would be proud of your state while I would be proud of Lagos my state

Hmm! This move is to mask the real intentions for setting up that base...I can bet Reno Omokri dangling balls that what the NAVY is doing at Apapa and NNS pathfinder in Rivers state will replicate itself there. Very corrupt bunch of extortionists.

They will not talk about the Igbo chief of Naval Staff that has been making all these moves recently. But if there is bad news they will mention the name of the tribe. Idïots

One tribal Yorbaman named Seunmg was wailing the other that the naval chief said they would build a base in Enugu..asking why he would build in his state.

But now the greedy man has disappeared.
