German Welt news think that Russia can only be defeated by a huge mobilisation in Ukraine, ideally 3 million people!

Initial hopes that Russia could be put under serious pressure, perhaps even to the negotiating table by blocking both its oil exports and its imports of Western goods, soon shattered. Unlike China, Russia can supply itself with both food and fuel and produce everything it needs, with the exception of microprocessors and other small high-tech products that can be easily smuggled in.

Turkey, although allegedly a close ally of the USA, is still the transit point for many high-tech exports to Russia, and the Turkish traders and smugglers have plenty of competition in other countries. As far as the Russian economy is concerned, the news is gloomy, but not gloomy enough.

This year, a meagre growth of 1.5 percent will be achieved, but it is still above the German growth rate (which is expected to be at zero). Russia's inflation rate is also far below the euro average at 3.3 percent. So the war will not end due to an economic surrender of Russia.

So there is only one way forward: to seriously wage the war as it should be for a national liberation struggle. Although the population of Ukraine has declined, it is still over 30 million, so the total number of armed forces could be up to three million.
