Government doesn't control black market price. It is up to the buyer and seller to deal at whatever price suits them.

The government only has direct influence on the I & E window which is around N780. Big companies and many others who have legitimate reasons can buy dollars from banks.

Many of those desperately buying at any price on the black market are using hundreds of billions stolen under Mr Buhari's government. They can't come out openly to buy through official channels.

If they like, they should push the black market rate to N1500, it is up to them.

The government can only focus on the I & E market.
have you try buying dollar from bank? abi u just they type rubbish? if you can buy dollar from the bank today, contact me i will even pay you for the services. buy dollar to pay school fees or medicals is not legitimate reason?

Dollar was selling at 700+ until government tried to unify the exchange rate, now it's at 900+. Don't you think the government is responsible for the hike due to their poorly thought-out policy?

So why is h running this government like who studied zoology
There is no evidence he is educated talk more of being a first class. Let Tinubu provide his academic records from primary school to university! That's not too much to ask for in a president.

He claimed to have graduated from Government college Ibadan but the school rejected his claim as false! The primary school he claimed to have finished from has been proven to be false too, it never existed! Etc.

Anyone Yoruba support politically is doomed, it will crash and fail.

Just check how Buhari they supported plunged the country into disaster. They also supported Tinubu, who is currently plunging the country to disaster pro max.

Yorubas don’t make good political choices in the centre.

After voting disasters they end up becoming bambialla queuing up to be fed with Agbado, Cassava and Ewa.

CORNfused set.

Quite unfortunate.

I doubt you are into International business or manufacturing to have said this .

Do you know the amount of Fx request on the official queue of many commercial banks that CBN hasn’t been able to fulfill?
Manufacturers and importers wait weeks and months to get Fx via the official window and this is killing businesses, to avoid such delays, they resort to the black market and I don’t blame them for doing so because whether they are able to source their raw materials or not , fixed costs such as salaries, rent , interest rates, etc ,must be paid , so it’s still their losses to wait perpetually for CBN .

It will always be inevitable... As long as importation is not diminishing, and there is no refinery in operation, the nation's currency and economy will suffer.

Inflation never even enter second gear.

I thought the liberalization of the Forex market eliminated the official and black market dichotomy.

Why then was Naira devalued from the official N460?
So that they will make more revenue

Hahahaha, Nigerians should come and see this yoruba man defending rubbish. He says it's not Tinubu's fault that naira is now 905/$. He is saying that aboki bureau d change operators and Nigerians buying from them are the problem grin grin grin

Kai, egbon, you go explain tire!!!
You don't even know how ridiculous you sound. If official exchange rate is 400/$ and is readily available in the banks, don't you know that parallel/aboki rate won't be more than 415/$?!

Make una continue supporting rubbish because of tribalism. Na una go suffer am pass!!!

The real problem is simple...Nigeria is not earning enough forex.

The problem with the APC you support, and the PDP they support, and the Army rule they supplanted is simple. You guys ran an economy that was based on one source of income. Now, here we are....the one source of income has knocked us all into debt.

So naira is no longer floating but devalued from 450 to 700... Very soon they will indirectly bring back fuel subsidy and still sell fuel at 600.. APC govt is a government by the thief, of the thief and for the thieves

All eyes on YORUBAS!!!!!!!! ....not Judiciary!!!

If Tinubu fails in the next 3 months, we just give it to Yoruba that they can never vote competency but tribe and Religion.....

Majority of them that voted this Shege pro Max are regretting it already as even the Agbado palliatives and the #5billion state Palliatives is nowhere to be found....

People like ....

ICOnIC ( helinus pro Max)
Darling daddy ( Mannequel vulture griller)
Ngeneukwu
Etc
They will all run out of this thread like it is infested with leprosy.....

I guess they have brought it back. Government doesn't know how to take wise decisions

2012 was the last chance we had to remove subsidy with minimal issues. Tinubu, Buhari and most Nigerians said no.
