DeLaRue: Do you mean the round-tripping continues. Buy from I&E window, CBN, and NNPC and sell at the black market? Why then did CBN devalue the Naira from its N460 official rate in June 2023 if they continue to defend the Naira? Dangote dey like this kin business. |
Re: Naira Weakens To N773.4/$ At I&E Window, N905/$ At Parallel Market by obi58: 10:16am On Aug 24, 2023 |
DeLaRue: But the problem is that the CBN cannot meet the demand of the big companies on the I&E market. This is what is fuelling the demand in the black market where the dollars are readily available. Govt secured a so called loan to bridge the FX demand gap in the I&E window to stabilise the naira as a desperate short term measure but so far, this loan has either not been used or is failing to make the desired impact. Waste of funds which we have to pay interest on if you ask me. The solution still has to lie in boosting both oil and non oil exports to increase FX inflow. This is the only way out. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Nordy: E don finish now. That’s why you see the rate getting higher each passing day. The $3bn was a loan which must be repaid. In less than a week the money no get effect. By the time Tinubu leaves office, poverty rate in Naija will double. |

All our sales from crude oil from now till 2030 has been used as collateral for the monies that the fulani man Buhari borrowed.......the latest 3billon borrowed by Tinubu was backed by sales from your LNG gas sales for the next 4 years..................the only source of forex now is from remittances from hardworking Igbo ppl,edo ppl and yorubas in the diaspora...........I wonder how fulanis will corner that source of forex oil money hav finish o! 2 Likes 1 Share |

masseratti:It is the so-called black marketers (who are illegal worldwide by the way) that should be forcibly banned and ruthlessly jailed after court trials for illegal speculations in FX. No where in the respectable countries are illegal speculators in FX allowed to gain footholds! The BDCs have also now been restored by the CBN after Godwin Emefiele stopped their FX markets participation, and they will have to do proper accounting of their daily, weekly and monthly business activities to the CBN as a major condition. 1 Like 1 Share |

XAUBulls:the problem is if you go against black market it will have a political problem, most of the black marketers are northerners any government that seek to prosecute them will have issues, best way to run them out of business is to buy and sell at their price.. Same way petrol black marketers have gone out of business, they will also go out of business, if the I & Ẹ window is maintained and the naira is not truly floats with markets forces determining the price, it will be open to round tripping as speculations hence it's fall also. 1 Like 1 Share |

XAUBulls: Oga, black marketers are people like you and me that collect hard currencies from friends and relatives overseas. Why would you go to the bank to exchange your money at an unfavorable exchange rate while the black market rate is much more higher? The problem is that the demand from importers, manufacturers, travellers, students, etc. is far higher than the supply. 1 Like |

masseratti:You made very valid points there. But did you know that most of those illegal FX black marketers are not originally from the Far North of Nigeria? They are majorly from other West African countries of Niger, Mali, Senegal, Guinea (Conakry). It's gonna be very easy to get them and their very greedy Nigerian collaborators out of the way because President Tinubu is from the South. Tinubu has no choice but to deliver by showing his fangs, and deal with all the economic enemies of Nigeria and NOT give off weak vibes. With the aid of the CBN, all the Intelligence Agencies and a restructured DSS, the illegal black marketers around Nigeria will be tamed! All the best. 1 Like 1 Share |
