That’s just £2 increase in 8 years while Nigeria was N97 in 2015 and is now N617 which is N520 increase in same period.

come down to what? What are the logical mechanics the government has put in place to get more foreign currency?. Floating a weak currency like the naira simply means you are playing to demand and supply. When we don't have enough supply of dollars, how then will someone sensible go ahead to float his weak currency?
