This Gabon coup is grossly irresponsible! African and South America have NEVER faired well under military rule since the late 1950s. Corruption spikes up and the economies crumble the more under military rule! Demoracy is still the best way to go.

Citizens have absolutely NO freedom under military rule and people get assasinated at random without any consequences.

Even those youngsters posting criminally defamatory comments online and offline [like here on NL and other platforms elsewhere] would have been arrested by now and LIQUIDATED by the military goons from the face of the earth.

The military are no better off. Abacha's loot is still being repatriated from all around the world till date even though he died about 26 years ago.

I am not sure getting sanctioned is a good idea, coupled with the looting Karki boys, and the gross human right abuses that comes with it.

Your question is inconsequential in this context.

The main question here is can "ECOMOG" reinstate the ousted president of Niger?

why would you want the worst democracy, when you can actually have the best?
Slavery mentality!!!
when they asked you to pay attention in school you refused, all you did is to chase skirt up and down, if you have any sense of English comprehension you will under stand fully well what someone mean when they tell you the worst item of A is way better than the best item of B...
Tell me how can I have the best democracy or name any country in the world with the title "best democracy" ? Stone head mentality.

Then you must be a foolish elder because our fathers never suffered what we are going through.

Most of them say it openly and wish us well.
i would have ignore to reply you, if you were trained to use gutter words on a faceless fora with people am sorry I don't convoy with gutter people who were not trained to be civil.
Yes our fathers never suffered like we are doing... Nor did they have the luxury of cell phone, internet. Heck their own father's time was still better than our fathers time, that has always been the story of Nigeria since independence at no time was things better than what was before.

How many South Africans are automatically able to settle in anywhere in the world without visa , South Africans are third class citizens in their own country
Well, Nigerians for instance, go throug a lot to settle in UK (see crowd at embassy). All that will be wiped away if you take away independence. Do you really believe Naija would be like this if we had allowed Britain to rule us till now? Sometimes you stoop.to conquer

Just waking to hear this.
Na waoh for Africa and her feudalistic governments masquerading as democracies.

Truly the black man, the African is not mentally competent to found and sustain a viable society.

It is clear why and how Africans were taken into slavery. A people that cannot organise themselves.

Have you found what works for you before you switch?

Their technologies and products work for you because they are consumables, you can adapt to them. Latest IPhone upgrades, you adapt very fast. When it comes to the sustaining the ideologies that birthed a working environment for these consumables to be produced.., you shout its not for Africa.
So Cell phones, Facebook, blogging are for Africans but not the responsibility to keep a robust Democratic system, abi?

Anyway I've seen renowned fools here on Nairaland that beat your records to devastating degrees. Fools have grades. You're still playing catchup with mental disasters like Hammett, writerNG and the likes. More grease to your elbows.
If your idea of a family holding on to power for 56 years with the help and support of a foreign imperialist is your idea of a working democracy ,then ,your head is full of garri and relaxer!

you have a point, besides electricity and good roads in some places... might just be the difference , the looting won’t stop , oppression won’t stop, we’ll have limitations and areas we can’t rent or buy houses in our own country. Trust me things would’ve been much worst , the only thing South Africa enjoys infrastructures which is only at areas where you find white peoples , there are still villages as much as it would be if we had stayed with England ... we’d still have our villages the way they are till today cause independence was a scam , that was their deal expiring but they didn’t want to let go. Unfortunately our leaders are we’re greedy from day 1 , they sold out instantly ... nnamdi azikiwe was the first one to sell out.

The thing is that Nigerians wouldn't even want to go settle in UK. For what?? Those who go to study would promptly come back home after their studies. Also Nigerians will actually be the ones in charge. We will let whites think they are in charge, knowing we have numbers and can throw them out any time we wish. Alas humans don't think like that!
It would be like letting a world-class CEO run your small company. Of course the company would do very well. He'd be running it, but you still OWN it!

Right , that is why South Africans don’t like to travel ... only their women and some business men . Our leaders were too greedy and eager.
