Botragelad:This thing you wrote here is contradictory and does not explain why the rice factories in Nigeria are shutting down. Nigeria rice mills needs to import rice from India to make up for the gap in supply which they are unable to fill. Nigerian rice mills does not import raw rice from India to package and sell as local rice. Are you an author of confusion? |

It's good news in a way, cos if I get my economics right, surplus translates to reduction in price of commodity. So rice should come cheap anytime soon. |

Botragelad:Plenty grammar no substance. You ended up contradicting yourself Now, to answer your question about whether or not it is the raw rice from India they mill in Nigeria and brand locally produced rice, the answer is no. Nigeria imports mainly Indica white rice from India, which is already milled and polished.Always KISS |

Botragelad:Even though you make a lot of sense, it is obvious the reason why rice millers in Nigeria are affected is because some of them do process and sell rice imported from India, otherwise there would be no need for them to be so affected to the extent shutting down.! |

Botragelad:Good summary👏🏿 Still no explanation why nigerian rice mills have to shut down due to India's ban on rice exportation. Moreover, if I recall, the whole essence of closing our border was for Nigerian to be self sufficient in rice production. Forget about access to farm and any other thing. Just explain how India's ban on rice exportation is killing nigerian rice mills🤷🏿♂️ |
