Delta State Govt Breaks Silence On Court Of Appeal Allegedly Sacking Governor by DyshApp(op): 7:33pm On Aug 31, 2023
In a recent development from Asaba, Delta state, the Delta state government has firmly refuted certain media reports circulating about the removal of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori by a Court of Appeal. Sir Festus Ahon, the Chief Press Secretary of Governor Oborevwori, categorically dismissed these reports as inaccurate and urged the public to disregard such claims.

Ahon reiterated that the Appeal Court's proceedings in Abuja did not result in the overturning of Governor Oborevwori's election, as speculated by the Labour Party's governorship candidate, Ken Pela. The Appeal Court solely directed the tribunal to examine Pela's case against Governor Oborevwori's electoral triumph.

Responding to the misinformation, Ahon emphasized, “Numerous reports have surfaced, asserting that Mr. Ken Pela of the Labour Party was proclaimed as the victor of the 2023 Governorship election in Delta State by the Appeal Court. Let it be known that this information is unequivocally false, as the Appeal Court merely instructed the tribunal to review the case."

Ahon also noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had already declared that the Labour Party was not the victor of the election. This assurance reinforces the belief that the party's legal prospects are also unlikely to succeed. Notably, the enduring support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's leadership is evident through the considerable voter participation.

Ahon concluded by affirming, "Our legal advisors are meticulously examining the Appeal Court's verdict to determine the most appropriate course of action." He appealed to supporters of Governor Oborevwori to remain composed during this time.

Only delusionals will think LP or APC won in Delta.
They lost emphatically in a landslide faction!
