Yep... Without the help of Bank staff, internet fraudsters and politicians won't thrive at all.

Nigerian banks are extremely compromised and corrupt... They are a huge pointer to the rot in this nation and society.

There are two things to blame here.

Excess pressure from banks for staff to meet targets. This is making staff to open shady accounts and even help customers beat regulations just so they can get figures to meet target.

Secondly, low pay from banks. Imagine a staff earning 100k monthly with no promotion or growth in site. Such staff can easily fall for an offer of 2-3m from fraudsters who need them to facilitate easy banking for them.

Banks need to do more. Imagine someone earning less than 200k been kept on same position, same salary for more than 9years. Why won't the person have integrity issue.

He will lose the lawsuit. The customer must have provided all those documents he mentioned. You wouldn't have succeeded and scale through compliance in all 3 banks if you don't provide means of ID to prove you're who you say you are.

Mind you, did he patent the name? If no, then it's no case. I can wake up tomorrow and do change of name and start bearing his exact name. All I need are legal documents to show for it.

He asked a very vital question ...why is it that those banks are not collecting bio data of the account owners ? Are the banks doing colabo with the criminals ?

First question is that was said name patented?

Second question is, the bank can show you at least 100 customers with matching names, some even have matching DOB and the only distinctive factor is their BVN and valid ID number. Should those people too sue the bank for having other customers that bear their exact names?

I know he'll be schooled and he's got no case sha. Let's wait and see. The best he can do is report the account as an account opened with fraudulent intent and the bank will look into the activities of the account holder.

What if the said account is not savings and opened as a business account? Is that the fault of the bank??

There may not be any case here because the name would have been registered by the person concern and it's now left for the complainant to prove that he has registered that name earlier.
Because am sure his name may not have been as spelt out officially.
Instead of shouting,he should take the legal route to get to the root of the problem.

Not every should must be under copyright law. There are Valid questions asked already that the bank should provide answers to..

What is the use of BVN...NIN...Valid ID (Int'l Passport, National ID, Driver's Licence or Voter's Card) which must be present and must be verified before accounts are opened. What is the use of utility bill that they ask for in the bank. Except there is a connivance within the bank, request to open such account won't fly.

Peter Okoye or Peter and Okoye are common name but that could be found among a cross section of South East population. However, PSquare is not. So opening account with such names would require a thorough scrutiny.
