No offense but to drive on Lagos roads, you must be a mad man
To even live in Lagos means you're mad.
You won't know you're mad until you visit other cities on normal business days (NOT weekend or holidays that your fellow Lagos madmen are also visiting).

I believe we have the right to decide what policy we should use as a country without BBC interference.

The subsidy removal must have wrecked British and America that they want to use their useless media platform to criticise the policy...

We called them during EndSars but they removed to interfere..... So why are they coming to take paracetamol on our head?
Why cant you use your brain for once? What has Naija subsidy gotten to do with US/UK media? How can a Naija policy affect US and UK economies?? You failed economics and politics 101?

BBC is trying to warn you and your ilk that Naija economy is facing contractionary pressures because slow economic activities as a result of reduction in movement of goods and services. Fossil fuels move Naija economy… remove them 100% then the economy is dead.

The entire nation got changed. You can travel from Lagos to Kaduna or Abuja now without experiencing a single holdup. It has never ever been this way before now
There are thirty, forty, fifty lane roads in other climes.

This should be government's responsible approach to traffic congestion, not impoverishing the masses with negative economic policies that they can no longer afford to drive vehicles.

Inflation would end up going down with less liquidity in the economy.
Abi supply would dwindle as businesses shut down, leading to price escalation...

This bustling city of an estimated 20 million people is quieter, but for once that is not a good thing.

I bolded the above for emphasis sake, that's because as a people, the polices of those in power always come lopsidedly against the common man. Who uses those buses and private cars to hustle? You and me!

Like the article stated, we all expected that the subsidy and economic changes would be done in phases. Sadly, Lagos epitomizes what the whole country is feeling at the moment.

People are basically trekking everywhere. The decision to even leave your house costs 1k alone. Which way for us?

IT'S NOT A QUESTION OF MANDATES ANYMORE.

WETIN YOU DEY CARRY THE MANDATE DO?

Before you quote me, please consider that I'm a Nigerian first before any party or political affiliation.

Was the BBC ignorant when he alluded to the fact that subsidy was back when fuel.price didn't increase due to the weakening of the naira?

Didn't he understand the novel way BAT used to address the issue or he was simply being mischievous?

And the economy is nosediving on daily basis. Tinubu really hurt the economy.
I'm sure he's more confused now than ever before.
Mr Tinubu has assured that there are no further plans for petrol prices to rise - which ought to happen as the naira weakened further - all but signalling that the subsidy was back.

Quality of life in Nigeria keep going down the drain and people getting miserable everyday. Even some rich middle class are beating down their standards. Many families now ration food. Only God knows the number of pupils and students who will drop out or enroll in public school this September.

I even saw on Facebook a post where a corn seller sells half roasted corns so people can afford them. Wtf. Four years is a long ride ooo.
I read this morning a man died of starvation in kano. Lord which way angry
It is time to adjust our living and have a paradigm shift. Those who japa knows that there is fee paid for everything including air, nothing is free overseas. In Nigeria, we are used to getting things free and will do everything to sabotage the system to live free. That explains why someone will be stealing electricity from the neighbor, or DSTV/GoTV signals.

We are feeling the pain because we are used to freebies and that is why the country is not progressing and yet we will complain.

Even the subsidy isn't gone. With the Naira depreciation, some subsidy is back. That is the same outcome if you remove the subsidy in phases.
Subsidy is gone for good. If CBN decides to sell their scarce dollar lower than what it can command in exchange market, that's because they want to simulate good economic indices. The next sensisble target should be local refining. That will eliminate the need to go out and buy petrol with dollar - something that can strengthen the naira to good extent - and drive cost of other imported goods down. It is best the NNPC remains a neutral importer that brings in petrol at competitive rate and sell at low profit to keep the other petrol marketers on their toes and avoid a cement situation where enty barrier is high and competition thus weak.

reluctance to pay 30k transport just to maintain a fifty thousand job is not a a byproduct of freebies people are used to. Let's not throw out babies with bath water.
