Police Arrest 32 Suspected Kidnappers, Robbers In Adamawa, Recover ₦‎1.6m by Thonyb2(op): 7:09am On Sep 05, 2023

The Adamawa State Police Command on Monday paraded 32 robbery and kidnapping suspects.

Among the paraded suspects was Mustapha Mohammed who was linked to the abduction of Zainab Abbas, the wife of an Adamawa State High Court judge who was abducted from her residence in Nyibango, a residential district in the Yola North LGA early in June.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Nguroje, who addressed newsmen in the course of parading the suspects, listed the items recovered from them to include 13 AK-47 rifles, five locally made pistols, four pump-action guns and a cash sum of N1,689,000, among other items.

Nguroje later led journalists to the office of the state Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, who presented merit plaques to 11 police officers and four hunters whom he said were behind the success of the arrests.

The police operatives recognised were mostly from the Crack Squad of the state command.

My next door neighbour is still scrambling to raise 15 million naira to buy freedom for her husband and son who were kidnapped along Abaji about 3 days ago, on their way back to Abuja from Edo State.

The weird part is how the Nigerian Police has been very unbothered despite this lady's consistent visits to their offices. She's rather on the verge of selling their home, having already sold their car.

And somehow, we're supposed to believe we're a Nation with a functional government.

Made-up story? If you know me well enough on nairaland, you'll know I don't waste words.

She's my Jahi neighbour in Abuja. They're all from Edo state. Her husband and son were kidnapped just at Abaji, on their way back from Edo state. Her church has only been sending prayer warriors and they've spent the last 3 days praying. Weird part is, the building currently housing the church belongs to the man who's been kidnapped. That was his own contribution to the "Kingdom of god". He only takes meagre rents from the church. Now this same church can't even come through for this woman.

As at yesterday, she's been able to raise 8 million naira and has spent the entire night praying and crying. Husband and first son are in the hands of kidnappers. The whole compound is gloomy, cause she's a very nice woman, alongside her husband. Hausa neighbours here are even the ones championing her course. The car she sold wasn't worth more than 3 million by my evaluation, but the Hausa man who bought it paid 3.8 million for it, when the woman was not even expecting to get 2.5 million for it.

She's an entire picture of misery!
