Hello, I don't know how to research on this to arrive at answer. So I want to hear from you all.

Do citizens of other countries do this like Nigerian citizens or simply because we are the poverty capital of the world?

Account number everywhere online.

The internet is the world in one. So your assumptions is relatively correct.

Its hard to tell which of the online ''beggars' are genuine, but you really do not need to castigate any. Just IGNORE!

Honestly, the amount of request for financial assistance I do get daily is really scary. I don't even know who is real and fake.

Nigerians we're not begging. Northerners introduced begging to Nigeria. Despite the fact that the children of hatred, bitterness, anger and frustration are cursed, when I was in Onitsha for 11 months in 2022, I saw only one beggar who had leprosy at Onitsha. Only one beggar for the whole 11 months I spent there.

Meanwhile, I saw different beggars in UK, also in US despite the fact that unemployed citizens are paid monthly in these developed nations. So begging is a mentality.
