Leonard Mack, 72, was exonerated after new DNA testing excluded him as the perpetrator.

After 47 years, a New York man has been exonerated after new DNA testing conclusively excluded him as the perpetrator of a 1975 rape.

This is the longest known wrongful conviction in US history to be overturned by DNA evidence.

Your point exactly?

" Leonard Mack, 72, spent over seven years in prison after being convicted in 1976 for the crime he did not commit."

I'm guessing you tactically avoided quoting this part because it shatters your argument.

Which country or worse still which planet in the solar system sentences a man for 47 years on mere rape conviction.

If you need better clarity of the story...the wrongfully convicted man has been trying to clear his name and expunge the record of conviction from his name ever since he was freed from prison 47 years ago.

common sense should know that was s typographical error,7years isn't the longest number of years a person has served in prison for wrong conviction,a young man served 22 years and was released in around 2020 when the lady confessed that she lied the state gave him 18 million dollars as compensation, dont just go throwing insults without thinking properly.

he spent 47 years, the person who wrote the article made a mistake,or else 7 years isn't the highest number of years a person has served for wrong conviction, you could easily look it up,its simple logic, read the first lines below:
Leonard Mack, 72, was exonerated after new DNA testing excluded him as the perpetrator.

After 47 years, a New York man has been exonerated after new DNA testing conclusively excluded him as the perpetrator of a 1975 rape.

A teenage girl was raped twice; We don’t know the trauma and pain she faced during and after the tragedy. She would still be in shock, her mental state would still be confused and would identify anything or anyone that looks identical to the perpetrator. There are a lot of rape victims that actually end up hating “men” as a whole just because of the experience they had.

The police are to blame for not doing a thorough investigation as to ascertain if it was him or not.

Na wah! The hate for black folks is something else. Flip it around and guess if a white man happened to plied that route at that moment, what would happen to him?

Africa failed from the begining of time .

Once a slave is always a slave, they sold their brothers out for penny, and the white man paid to have them , so how do you expect them to ever love you or see you as normal humans being .

Africans behave like the colours of their skins.

No love
No trust
No development
No sincerity
No morales
No conscience
No humanity amongst them all black people ..

A rich land that was given to the evil race...

My good friend let's try not to generalize, the specifics of this article talks about wrongful conviction on rape charge and the sentencing thereof,

This article is very explicit were it stated the man served over 7years, if his sentence was reduced by way or parole or good behaviour that ain't important here.

What is clear is that from 1976 to date, 2023 is 47 years and there is no way the man could have been in prison all that while because it contradicts the 7 years incarceration captured in the article and no country sentences a rape convict for as much as 47 years.

Perhaps there's a point you're trying to make which as it is I don't understand, or are trying to say the article is wrong?

Can't believe I actually have to explain this to you people.

47 years was the longest someone has stayed before his wrongful conviction was overturned!!!

The 47 years has nothing to do with the number of years he served which was 7 years!!
There is NO typographical error!!!

well i guess having a high IQ isnt a reason not to make mistakes as the one i did,my mistake was i misinterpreted the word conviction for incarceration, due to the multiple law violations involved in the crime,i had though he had been locked up for 47 years due to the number of crimes and sentences combined,on a second thought i read the article on Google and then that was when i was sure he was locked up for just 7 years and not 47 years as i have thought, these things do happen time to time, but i had to apologize to people ive talked down to, I've learned my lesson, which is not to always have the last opinion on a matter.still i am KAZEL.
