raskymonojendor:I don't have the time for that ur post was clearly made to mock igbos that was why u didn't even bother to do a proper research before rushing to post every tribe borrowed one or two things from other tribes to add to theirs in the course of their advancement I don't see anything wrong with that. Almost every tribe in africa were very primitive and uncivilize including urs before the arrival of the British colonial masters so I don't understand ur point of trying to denegrate other tribes to promote urs. The only tribes that truly have any bragging rights are those that were not colonized not ur yoruba tribe OK. |

JOemmy:Hey boy, hold it there. I see what you did there. The fact that your ancestors were primitive and lacked foresight doesn't mean we all share your misfortune. You should read about the great Bini kingdom and see how foolish you sound. Bini had the Bini Kingdom We had the Kanem Borno Kingdom in Arewa We had the Oyo empire Mention a single city built by your fathers. Just 1. Others were building empires, your fathers were stealing caps about, you now want to lump my ancestors with your mediocre fathers as being primitive. That nonsense won't be tolerated. |

JOemmy:Yorubas were well dressed as far back as anyone could date back. Go and find out about Yoruba attire. It was not influenced by colonization. We have aso oke, buba, adire, sokoto etc

Omoawoke2:This is why I hate engaging in bigotry it makes you unreasonable and very stupid how can you see igbos wearing the winter hat that no one even knows it's real origin as degrading but couldn't even communicate or write with ur own yoruba language but yet have to borrow the language of the British colonial masters to be able communicate to the outside world and u don't see that as also degrading? All ur yoruba leaders and those that are anything in ur land were either trained in the white man's land or acquired western skills to be relevant to ur society non was groomed using ur home grown education so why should any reasonable person waste 10 seconds of his life to argue or take u serious here?. |

| Re: Is This Red Cap Indigenous To Igbo Tradition? by JOemmy(m): 3:39pm On Sep 11, 2023 |
Omoawoke2:It still doesn't make ur yoruba tribe anywhere superior to any tribe in nigeria. |
| Re: Is This Red Cap Indigenous To Igbo Tradition? by Appletek: 3:42pm On Sep 11, 2023 |
JOemmy:If you say Yorubas are not superior, why are they not crying marginalisation but you are crying marginalisation. For you to say you are marginalised, someone must be marginalising you. And the marginalisers are people in a superior position of power and influence. |
| Re: Is This Red Cap Indigenous To Igbo Tradition? by Omoawoke2(op): 3:48pm On Sep 11, 2023 |
JOemmy:This really pained you. If I write Yoruba, would you understand me. English has become an international language. Even non English speaking European countries communicate in English. You won’t see a german speaking german in a public forum. Even Chinese and Indians will communicate in English So if they are doing cultural day, when others are displaying their history and the richness of their culture, what an Igbo man will wear is a winter cap? Even the whites don’t wear winter cap as a symbol of their identity |
| Re: Is This Red Cap Indigenous To Igbo Tradition? by Omoawoke2(op): 3:49pm On Sep 11, 2023 |
007kjb:Tell your Igbo chiefs to stop disgracing blacks. Wearing a winter cap as a symbol of identity is degrading |
| Re: Is This Red Cap Indigenous To Igbo Tradition? by JOemmy(m): 3:55pm On Sep 11, 2023 |
Appletek:Argue from now till thy kingdom come it still doesn't change the fact that ur tribe wasn't anywhere superior to other tribes in nigeria that was colonized by the British if ur so called powerful empire was really powerful ur ancestors wouldn't have been overrunned by the British conquerors almost all the ethnic groups in nigeria have some few history of mediocre exploits but where still inferior to the military strength of the British Empire. For me and to any reasonable african the maximum respect and bragging rights should go to the african tribes that successful fought and stopped the colonial masters which I length were the Ethiopians it's not the bini or yoruba empires that easily crumbled when they were attacked by superior British Empire. |

Omoawoke2:Lol this is actually a lie. There's a history book in my university, written in the 1920s with this picture in it and the exact same caption and many more. I have graduated now and done clearance and I'm also very busy now, but I would have gone there to take pictures. The book was written by a white man. I don't know when you people will accept that our forebears wearing very little clothes was actually a very wise thing to do. |

siofra:Those women are not Yorubas. You want to rely on history written by white racist who enslaved Africans and treated like animals. Same whites that kept blacks inside zoo. Look again, these are not Yoruba women Look at the hairstyles. Yoruba don’t do this kind of hairstyle. What is the hairstyle called in Yoruba ? Even a look at their faces will tell you this aren’t Yoruba women.

| Re: Is This Red Cap Indigenous To Igbo Tradition? by Omoawoke2(op): 5:16pm On Sep 11, 2023 |
Couldntfigurean:Every human were once naked, even the whites were once naked But civilization came very late to the igbos. The Yorubas have long evolved centuries before the igbos came out of bush When Yorubas were building empires, when oyo empire was thriving, the igbos were still inside bush. Even Ajayi crowther discovered Onistha and described them as uncivilized
