I want to switch careers and become a data scientist. How do I begin my journey for free?

From my learning point of view these are the order
Preliminary stages
1. Advanced Excel
2. SPSS
3. MATLAB

Beginners stage
1. Python ( libraries on stats analysis)
2. SQL (mysql or mssql)

Intermediate stage
1. Power Bi
2. Tableau

Advanced stage
DBMS Hacks and shacks

Google , YouTube and ebooks abound ....if you have money go for paid udemy courses, you may be lucky to come across such paid udemy courses free on youtube 😂 from experience.

Make a friend with a mentor , that is the fun of the game, from chating to coding sense into your nonsense.

W3 shools and sqlbolt is good for your sql
skills but don't jump to it directly, use it as your drill website after learning the basics from YouTube.

When you are done learning that will be good time to go advance so dont be distracted now with topics...believe me topic no go ever finish ....but first the minimum version is 2016.

Hope you would be using whatever you learnt in Excel everyday because if you want to just learn without using at your work/school, you would forget. Though, the good thing you can always google formulas and how to do things...
