Aburi Accord And Why Ojukwu Refused To Abide By It by ChiefJusticeFuc(op): 1:42pm On Sep 12, 2023
It is important to set the record straight that it was Ojukwu who renegaded on the accord reached at Aburi.

For starters here are the final resolutions reached by both parties :

1. Members agree that the legislative and executive authority of the Federal Military Government should remain in the Supreme Military Council, to which any decision affecting the whole country shall be referred for determination provided that where it is possible for a meeting to be held the matter requiring determination must be referred to military governors for their comment and concurrence.

2. Specifically, the council agreed that appointments to senior ranks in the police, diplomatic, and consular services as well as appointment to superscale posts in the federal civil service and the equivalent posts in the statutory corporation must be approved by the Supreme Military Council.

3. The regional members felt that all the decrees passed since January 15, 1966, and which detracted from previous powers and positions of regional governments, should be repealed if mutual confidence is to be restored

Following item 3 above , Gowon will usher in Decree 8 towards repealing Ironsi's dissatrous Decree 34.

Gowon's Decree 8 not only ended Ironsi's so-called unification decree but also strengthened regions by making provisions for regional armies seperate from a federal army .

It is imperative to note that only Ojukwu welcomed Ironsi's decree 34 when it was passed and only Ojukwu rejected Gowon's Decree 8 which was in agreement with item 3 reached at the Aburi summit.

Ejoor activated decree 8 in refusing federal troops from invading Biafra which was declared by Ojukwu after states were carved out from the old eastern region and from there dragged the already Ibo weary minority people of the lower Niger into his Biafra .

While Gowon respected Ejoor's stand for neutrality and did not deploy federal troops through Midwest, the north's regional army attacked Biafra through Benue in an advance into Cross River.

Instead of Ojukwu to contend with the north , he decided to invade and occupy the Midwest I'm what he declared as liberating them from Hausa Fulani control .

Ojukwu's so-called liberation army will then attempt am invasion to take Lagos and all of western region through the Midwest.

As you can see, the noise we are being disturbed with from Ibo revisionists falsely claim that Aburi agreement was breached by Gowon.

This is far from the truth.

It was Ojukwu who breached Aburi by refusing to abide by Decree 8.

To Ojukwu, the status quo was Ironsi's decree 34 which only him amongst all the military heads of regions accepted .

Ojukwu never wanted a return to regional assembly but rather wanted the Zikists inspired quasi Marxist military dictatorship aka modern day one Nijeriya to continue.

So next time an Ibo man lies to you about Ojukwu wanting a return to regional assembly and begins lamenting about Aburi , let them know that it was Ojukwu and Enugu that refused to abide by the accord .

Dont discuss Nigerian history if you dont know Nigerian history. 12 points were agreed at Aburi and item seven of that stated that if Gowon, for any reason, wanted to change the structural arrangement of Nigeria, he could only do so if all 4 Military Governors of the 4 Regions agreed he should do so.

Gowon then broke this agreement when on 26th May 1967, he issued Decree 14 which abolished all 4 Regions Nigeria had, and created 12 brand new states to replace them. Gowon immediately followed this up with Decree 15, which ended resource control, and put all resources in the hands of the federal government. This was a calculated move to end Regionalism and create an all powerful federal government controlled by Northerners

Having broken the gentleman's agreement they signed in Ghana, Ojukwu declared Biafra on 30th May 1967.

The originator of this topic should keep quiet and stop twisting the real history.

U think Gowon became a born again Christian for nothing. He played a tribal politics for the sake of the core north and today, the pendulum has swing knowing he betrayed the Aburi accord and see him going round to pacify all those whom he betrayed disguising himself a pastor.

Karma is indeed real.

So in essence,Ojukwu declared Biafra because Gowon created states out of the useless old yeast.

The people of the lower Niger had never held back their desires to leave your useless yeast.
Hell, they even wanted out of Nigeria so as to be free from you just as western Cameroun opted out
.

Now , if I may ask: why did Ojukwu reject Gowon's decree 8 ?

Igbos are really tormenting Yoruba people .. grin

Yoruba people are in power and wailing .. even oduduwa is wailing seriously on Igbo matter

But why?

On every thread you see Yoruba wailing ? Who beat this people ?
They hate and spread envy .. yet Nigerians still the love and believe

See as Oyibo man demolish the little brain of a sophisticator..

That alone ought to tell Yoruba people that are paid to launder igbos image as satan and demons .. that’s is not working ..
Nobody hides pregnancy… neve possible ..

Yoruba must wake to stop being callous ..

I call Yoruba because I see their post and likes that coms with it

It’s not just a post.. but likes indicates that is has become a tribal generated matter .. and it’s beginning to affect their psychology and subconscious

To avoid massive drowning at the lagoon.. because.. there’s absolutely nothing .. Yoruba can do against the igbos .. nothing .. Walahi Allah.. nothing..

.. and the day Yoruba tribe will understand this truth .. after all propaganda and schemes fail..

They only option left will be lagoon.. because they won’t and can’t stand this obvious shame ..

This truth might be so painful.. but that’s the fact .. who cares if mods delete this.. but we’re about to witness .. tribal suicide .. if not checked ..

God bless Nigeria
God bless Nigerians
