The insurance company has to buy the car again for the customer from Toyota (that is, if it’s insured from theft).
But I won’t call them a major beneficiary sha, some get slammed with law suit and then some loose credibility(value).
The thief’s are, since they are getting the car almost free and not all stolen cars are being replaced.

That is the reason why insurers in Canada will not rely on the tracking system by Honda CRV for instance. TD insurance does this.

They will insist on installing an immobiliser from their approved list and installation done in a separate company than Honda.

Naaaa. European cars are not spared from the trade, they only require a more sophisticated approach and the demand for it is not that much.
Saw a 50+mins documentary on the entire car theft industry and I just concluded that it will never stop. That industry is a multi billion dollars industry with a lot of corrupt individuals from all sectors benefiting from it.

Even the computer world, the security team need to work 247 because thieves do come up with new ways everyday to bypass security.

So in addition to the cars being stolen using technology, a car can literally be towed away the same way the repo men tow cars using their trucks.

Honda CRV is top on the list of most stolen cars.
