The bible claims to be a religious book. In this thread I will seek to find out how true this claim is with quoted passages from specific books,chapters and verses. You are therefore free to keep your Bible handy as the thread proceeds. Thank you.

we all agree that slavery is bad and morally unjust.
From this premise it will be assumed a religious book would condemn such an action. Does the bible in any shade or form condem this abominable act?
No in fact the bible supports slavery of human beings in all forms and even goes further to tell you how to enslave people. Through out the new testament Jesus Christ never for once condemns slavery. Christ performs many noble actions,gives a lot of advise on how to be a good person and how to attain the kingdom of heaven but does he for once condemn slavery? No he does not. What about Peter his disciple? Does he condemn slavery? No he does not!

From my experience, Christians tend to run away from threads like this because they have no answers to the questions raised.

The Book is instead primarily a story about a people — the descendants of Jacob— and 2 Nations constituted of the people — The Nation of Israel(and then Judah) in the Land of Canaan, and the Kingdom of God(a Nation that is not of this world), the constitution of both Nations clearly expressed in the Bible. So how in the world can any of that be considered religious?

The movement has at least 10 notable dates/periods where the end of the world was predicted or strongly expected:
1878, 1881, 1910, 1914, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1975, and “before the 20th century ended (1914 generation).”

I also heard Jehovah's Witnesses predicted the end of the world so i became inquisitive but found that it's all lies that's what made me one of Jehovah's Witnesses today.
Please if you don't know the organization has a magazine they use to announce their beliefs throughout the world it's called "The Watchtower"
Do you have a copy of this magazine in which it's written that the world will end at so or so date?
I will love to be your friend if you can provide just a copy or excerpt in any of their magazines where it's stated that the world will end with a specific date in mind.
I don't want to view you as a confused person because you sound so sure of what you've been typing since the start of this thread but please don't let the case of Jehovah's Witnesses render what you've been typing all these while sound like you are not properly informed!

If you as a member of the Jehovahs witness claim that your religious organisation has NEVER predicted the end of the world severally like a kalokalo player. The latest prediction that was as recent as 1975 then I can not be of help to you.
Educate and enlighten yourself about the organisation to which you belong. You and I know that after the last failed prediction the Jehovah Witness organisation stopped predicting the end of the world openly but have been doing it surreptitiously.




Below are dates of failed Jehovah witness predictions for the end of the world.



1878 – Early Bible Students expected Christ to take faithful Christians to heaven.
1881 – A further adjustment, still expecting the rapture of the saints.
1910 – Anticipation that the end would occur very soon.
1914 – Most famous prediction. They taught this would mark the end of the world and the beginning of Christ’s reign. When nothing happened visibly, they reinterpreted it as the year Christ began ruling invisibly in heaven.
1918 – Taught that God would destroy churches and millions of their members.
1920 – In the book Millions Now Living Will Never Die! Judge Rutherford (the 2nd leader) proclaimed that the resurrection of the “ancient worthies” (like Abraham) would occur in 1925.
1925 – Explicit prediction that biblical patriarchs would return to life on earth and usher in the new world. Jehovah’s Witnesses even built a mansion in California (“Beth Sarim”) for them.
1941 – At a convention, Rutherford told Witness youths that they would never grow old in this system because Armageddon was imminent.
1975 – The most widely known modern date. Publications taught that 6,000 years of human history would end in 1975 and Armageddon was expected. Many Witnesses sold property and postponed life plans.
