izzou:Seems the nee interior minister is up and doing. Hopefully we dont have case of backlogs again if they manage to clear all these ones. |

larride:The crowd for collection is massive compared to those for capturing. I doubt if this kind of backlogs can be accumulated again. I appreciate the efforts of the Minister |

Let me drop this here for theoretical physicists working on theses that could develop into a new branch of Physics. One can learn key lessons from the Nobel-prize-winning theoretical physicists in this brief history of Quantum Physics, which was developed by these great thinkers in the early 20th century: History of Quantum Physics In 1900, Max Planck proposed that the energy of electromagnetic radiation, such as light, is not continuous but discrete, meaning that it comes in packets or quanta. He derived a formula, known as Planck’s law, that describes the spectrum of blackbody radiation, which is the radiation emitted by a perfect absorber of heat. Planck’s law was the first quantum theory in physics, and Planck won the Nobel Prize in 1918 “in recognition of the services he rendered to the advancement of Physics by his discovery of energy quanta”. In 1905, Albert Einstein used Planck’s hypothesis to explain the photoelectric effect, which is the emission of electrons from a metal surface when light shines on it. He showed that light behaves as a stream of particles, called photons, whose energy depends on their frequency. Einstein also proposed the special theory of relativity, which relates space and time in a new way and shows that mass and energy are equivalent. Einstein won the Nobel Prize in 1921 “for his services to Theoretical Physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect”. In 1913, Niels Bohr introduced a quantum model of the atom, in which electrons orbit around a nucleus only at certain distances and can jump between them by absorbing or emitting photons. Bohr also proposed the correspondence principle, which states that quantum phenomena must agree with classical physics in the limit of large numbers. Bohr won the Nobel Prize in 1922 “for his services in the investigation of the structure of atoms and of the radiation emanating from them”. In 1923, Louis de Broglie suggested that matter, like light, has both particle and wave properties, and that the wavelength of a particle is inversely proportional to its momentum. This idea was confirmed by experiments that showed the diffraction and interference patterns of electrons and other particles. In 1925, Werner Heisenberg formulated the matrix mechanics, which is a mathematical framework for quantum physics that uses matrices to represent physical quantities and operators. Heisenberg also discovered the uncertainty principle, which states that there is a fundamental limit to how precisely one can measure certain pairs of physical quantities, such as position and momentum. Heisenberg won the Nobel Prize in 1932 “for the creation of quantum mechanics”. In 1926, Erwin Schrödinger developed the wave mechanics, which is another mathematical framework for quantum physics that uses differential equations to describe the evolution of wave functions. Schrödinger also introduced the concept of superposition, which means that a quantum system can exist in a combination of two or more states until an observation collapses it into one definite state. Schrödinger won the Nobel Prize in 1933 “for the discovery of new productive forms of atomic theory”. In 1927, Paul Dirac unified quantum mechanics and special relativity in a single equation, known as the Dirac equation, which describes the behavior of electrons and other spin -1/2 particles. Dirac also predicted the existence of antimatter, which are particles with opposite charge and spin to their normal counterparts. Dirac won the Nobel Prize in 1933 “for the discovery of new productive forms of atomic theory”. In 1928, Wolfgang Pauli proposed the exclusion principle, which states that no two identical fermions (such as electrons) can occupy the same quantum state in an atom or a molecule. Pauli also introduced the concept of spin, which is a quantum property that gives particles a magnetic moment. Pauli won the Nobel Prize in 1945 “for the discovery of the Exclusion Principle”. In 1935, Albert Einstein, Boris Podolsky, and Nathan Rosen published a paper that challenged the completeness and consistency of quantum mechanics. They proposed a thought experiment, known as the EPR paradox, that involved two entangled particles that share a quantum state and can affect each other instantaneously over any distance. They argued that this implied either hidden variables or spooky action at a distance, both of which contradicted classical physics. In 1948, Richard Feynman developed a graphical method for calculating quantum effects using diagrams that represent interactions between particles and fields. These diagrams are called Feynman diagrams and are widely used in quantum field theory and particle physics. Feynman also contributed to the development of quantum electrodynamics (QED), which is a quantum theory of electromagnetism that explains phenomena such as light scattering and electron-positron annihilation. Feynman won the Nobel Prize in 1965 “for their fundamental work in quantum electrodynamics”. Source: Sharma, B. (2023) via FB

Trevor012:Interesting news. At least, when the dumb ones come to their senses in the coming years, it'd be easy for people to calculate the cost of low intelligence and stupidity that makes millions of people in a country abandon and demonize their own forefathers and culture while promoting and celebrating the forefathers (such as Allah) and culture of the Arabs. Fools are the slaves intelligent people use as tools to make it in life. |

Kimbeast:That is the way business is sourcing talents and promoting them is done For every Asake and Victor Boniface wey blow the amount of work and promotion that went into them is a whole lot. These guys are bringing just their talent to the table but talent without exposure will mean they die in their hood as nobodies. When they tell their stories many of them usually point to someone they know who was better than them who never got lucky For a footballer na someone go take you from your hood, carry you go for multiple trials in Europe. Israel today, Malta tomorrow, Norway yesterday all these the footballer will contribute nothing beyond his talent, its possible he fails all trials and the agent shoulders the debt For a musician, one person will take interest in you and start taking your sample song all over the labels available. All these labels get thousands of applications everyday from talents who just want to showcase their work which they turn down. Label sign you, give you studio, give your packaging in form of blings,, better clothes, buy you car, even change your studio name, start taking you on their tours and letting the new artiste join them on stage, now start taking your music to media houses and paying for you to get airtime. All these time what does the artiste contribute? Nothing just his talent So how will the recoup their money invested back? It's a game of numbers. The football or music label hopes by the time they push 10, 2 go hit and cover the losses on the others. Go and ask Don jazzy, Olamide, PSquare Churchill Oliseh the number of artistes or footballers they took in spent money on and they didn't get shishi back in return I have a friend, who retired from oil and Gas and started football agency, he spent almost all his oil company severance on the business and it wrecked him financially. He is now dead. He will tell me when they will go to one rubbish European country where no one speaks English with 5 of his boys 5 people lodge in one room and still no get contract. Well he has a picture with Davor Suker in one of those trips One guy posted on Twitter that the way we are going everyone with talent will have to start selling their family land to pay football agents/label upfront so that problem no go dey with supposed exploitative contracts and when the money you deposit finish and you never blow you either bring more or begin go home |

raumdeuter:As per the bolded, for african footballers(Let me say Nigerians whom I know about) their trials to eastern europe, Israel, Scandinavian countries etc are usually funded by the footballers themselves. All they did then was hustle menial jobs, factory works and clerical jobs just to raise funds for travelling for trials I know quite a number of senior bros dem while growing that were very good footballers who have travelled several times for trials but usually come back rejected and broke. The whole obsession with playing professional football wrecked their lives. Some are in their mid forties now with no skill learnt, no education beyond OND while staying in their parent's house with their own families they can't even feed. When the few lucky ones who get successful and get signed by those foreign clubs come home during December, the kind billing dem dey knack them ehn....those ones quickly relocated their relatives from hood so they won't be having reason to run into them. |
