Obaofaba:
This is serious...

However, let us take a look at it from another angle.

Nigeria is certainly not the poorest country in the world by any metrics you want to use to measure the country's economic woes.

Then again, why is the naira one of the weakest currencies in the world?

There is no way you will tell me that Mauritania's ougiya is more stronger than the naira. No way.

Definitely, Nigeria has more vibrant economy than our francophone neighbors, why is naira weaker than their joint currency?

We certainly produce and export than all of this countries.

Take a look at it from a similar angle again, things are way cheaper here when priced with naira but costlier when priced with the dollars compared to those countries.

Could it be Western dictates to keep us a struggling nation?

The other answer is that we have more economic saboteurs in Nigeria than any country on the planet.

Bunch of unpatriotic wannabes.

I call on the government to deal with them and take back our country from the never do well crooks.
You should beg the nearest person standing next to you to give you a heavy knock in the middle of your head to wake you up from the illusion that it is foreigners who are Naija's problem.

Dangote refinery is good because of employment opportunities for Nigerians.
The refinery is not going to change the price of PMS because they're for business not for national charity.
After using the Nations' commonwealth to build his refinery... well the joke is on us.

Correct!! Crude Oil marketing methodology most often is in the future market to guarantee the security of supply.
The variable nature of refining technology involved a continuous processing hence your crude inventory should be robust to guarantee operation.
Similarly, rig count is tie to continuous crude evacuation.

Wonderful.

The more you look, the less you see.

So, Nigeria took a loan against her crude oil, only to share the loan to state governments as palliatives to cussion the effect of subsidy removal. grin grin

The state governors now loot the palliatives..

In other words... Dangote is simply telling us that there's no way he is going to sell fuel below the international market rates because he is importing crude oil.

This country Nigeria... Is the Headquarters of lies, deceit, thieves and 419
Where is the lie here, is either you are not informed of the happening in the country or you just want to black list the nation. The oil for loan deal is not a hidden news, Google will help you out.

Whenever I read things like this, I am comforted with the fact that this world is not my home and that I will leave it on day. Even all those who are into all these racket will not stay on earth forever to enjoy their loot. We will all appear one day before our creator to give account of all that we did on earth.
Let them go ahead with all these looting and then confusing the people with grammar and financial jargon, JUDGEMENT DAY IS COMING!

Now Dangote will import crude oil to refinehuh
What am I reading?
The goal has been to reduce pressure on FX. Buy locally in naira, refine locally and sell refined products both locally and internationally.

If we import fuel, we spend in USD. If Dangote imports crude, they buy in USD.
So how will the cost of the product go down?

Even if Dangote buys from Nigeria, it will still be at international price, the only thing is that freight will not be included. The oil from Nigerian oil fields are produced by joint ventures with multinationals. The multinationals produce and sell and remit Nigeria's share to its government, they won't be part of subsidy to Dangote at detriment to their business.
