psychology is a go way to get high paying jobs with the state, and in human services. the real money is in starting a private practice which my mother does and has made close to half a million

speaking to a university advisor if your in school is one, or checking out a book starting with one that gives a brief history of the field and then moving on to more specific topics within the field would help.

its an excellent field that is in constant demand, one of the only fields that demand increases when the economy gets worst.

I am a graduate of Psychology and i must tell you it is a very interesting discipline. However, studying Psychology at first degree does not make you a Psychologist until you have a masters degree.

Psychology cuts across all fields and you are taught the fundamentals of these fields at first degree, when you do a masters degree you specialize in a field and you become an expert.

In Nigeria you can hardly find a psychologist making the big bucks independently except those in Academics and other public service. But you need to talk to a counsellor because i did not go into the university to study the course JAMB made me but i have no regrets.

Takia.

Psychology is a good course.
Adler, Freud and all the greats.

A psychologist makes big bucks in the States, you get paid per hour.
Unfortunately it ain't so here.

I advice those whom want to read psychology in Naija to go into the academics.
Go all the way and get your Ph.d. You will earn well as a Psychology lecturer.
