Started a demo trading challenge since last week with max 3% monthly drawdown. Couldn't take any trade throughout last week because none really got to my entry point and I had to chill till they do. Which two trades eventually did today.

USD/JPY and USD/CHF, both running in crazy profit currently because I discovered that my new strategy would mean lesser trading days, so I consequently increased my risk per trade to 1.2% to make 3.6%+. 20pips:60pips reward ratio.

The challenge is ending month end, just in time for my first real competitions. I'm just getting myself warmed up for two challenges I will be competing for next month.

As from today henceforth, will be risking just 0.8% max per trade, because two trades activated today alone, potentially risking 2.4% of an account daily is not wise enough.
Another lesson learnt today!


Thinking about another strategy of setting stoploss and keeping tp open too. Normally, my TP would have hit on GU since and potentially miss out on many more pips, but it could also reverse and lose everything too.

Just testing and weighing the risks and rewards.

Finally closed the trades at 5.84%+. Forex is crazy, couldn't get any trade for about 5days and got two today alone. Experience is a lot in this business. Can't imagine what people who have been in this for 5/7/10years+ eyes have seen. Probably why they laugh when they see us rookie, they see themselves years ago.

Good evening Boss Gabson, please I need enlightenment on this swing trading. How do one go about the charges involved with leaving trades all night? I've read so much about it online but still didn't get the actual answer I'm searching for.

Achieving 60-80pips a day might be tedious to do, so leaving trade to run all night might be key in that, but how do I go about it with as little as 20-30pips stoploss with all these massive spreads that occurs overnight sometimes?

I don't intend keeping trade for more than a week, just enough days till tp or sl is hit.
Sorry if the question is getting too long, I just need enlightenment on it. Thanks boss.

The charges are very small compared to the rewarded profit value
Settle for a no swap broker or prop
Trade pairs that have zero commission
Settle for a zero commission broker

Oil price dropped low 88.76 in yesterday market. Analyst still believe oil price drop because trader taking profit action. Meanwhile the news reporting the U.S. Federal Reserve on Wednesday decided to hold interest rates steady for September, indicating next year may see fewer rate cuts that analysts had earlier anticipated.

EU chart looks very much ready for an instant buy once market opens. TP @ 1.07300. Then sell from there and leave TP open till eternity ... The buy is a countertrend trade so don't risk aggressively.

Buyers are waiting for UJ at 147.500, the buy zone is still valid till 147.000... A close below 147.000 will invalidate the buy setup. Leave TP open till after fomc. It's a trend following trade so risk aggressively with proper MM.

These two calls actually came into pass. A strong rejection on UJ at exactly 147.500, While EU was rejected few pips after 1.07300. But I missed the trade and deleted my pending orders because of fear and market noise .....
