These conflicts have occurred since the peak of Michael Jackson's career and even before the Icon. Taylor Swift had to remaster two of her albums. Legends like 2face had their own dose from Kennis. P-square , identical twins, were dissolved because of music business sharing formula.

I love corporate and formal environments and have always advocated for the legal resolution of breach of contracts that arise from agreements. An injunction/restraining order from a competent court of jurisdiction would prevent him from doing the things he did without his label.

However, artistes simply change their names so the contract becomes invalid. They can thereafter remaster the songs they did with their former stage names under the record label contract. Kiss Daniel was one of those who successfully did this. He changed his name from Kiss Daniel to Kizz Daniel rendering the contract with G-worldwide useless. It's not a fair world.

Mohbad won't be the first artiste to leave his record label in Nigeria or abroad. He isn't even the first to be intimidated by his record label.

In fact, being a popular musical star has nothing to do with knowing how to sing or one's dexterity with musical instruments.

In sports, agents like Mendes take their big cut. If it was easy, Mbappe would just wake up and leave PSG for Madrid. Why is it always different in the music business?

Defend the deceased as much as you like but the fact remains that nobody on the face of the earth forced him to sign the deal with Marlian records. When you sign an agreement, fortunately, one that brings fame and money to you, the least you can do is honour it.

However it must be stated that Mohbad's tragedy and Naira Marley's cancellation is like a loan app debtor committing suicide because the loan sharks blackmailed him to his family, friends, and colleagues. I really don't know the details but if there was an agreement then both parties should have honoured it to the letter or better still renegotiated the deal.
