Kogi State, Nigeria - September 23, 2023

In a somber and emotional gathering, students of Kogi State University, along with thousands from neighboring institutions, came together last night for a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of the late Nigerian rapper, Mohbad. The event, held at a central location within Kogi State, aimed to pay tribute to the talented artist and demand justice for his alleged murder by unknown assailants.

The atmosphere was charged with grief and solidarity as students held candles and sang in unison, mourning the loss of the rising star, whose life was tragically cut short. Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, had gained immense popularity in the Nigerian music industry for his distinctive style and lyrics.

Amid the flickering candlelight, students came together to call on the Inspector General of Police and law enforcement agencies to swiftly investigate the circumstances surrounding Mohbad's untimely death and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Flora James Ufedo, also known as Flora Koko, one of the organizers of the event, expressed the collective sentiment, saying, "Mohbad was light until the very end, and as we mourn the loss of the brightness he carried, we must unite to demand justice for his alleged murder. He wanted peace, and now he is resting in peace."

The tragic incident has left the entire community in shock and mourning, with many expressing their condolences and support for Mohbad's family. The vigil served as an outlet for students to channel their grief and frustration into a call for accountability and a safer environment for artists and citizens alike.

As the candles burned and the night sky bore witness to their sorrow, the students of Kogi State University and their peers from surrounding institutions vowed to keep Mohbad's memory alive and to continue pressing for justice until the truth behind his alleged murder is unveiled.

Slain Rapper?

As in he was shot or he was stabbed to death?

Jobless youths should go and find something doing with their idle time.
