According to Wikipedia and my own addition. It seems the LGAs are third tier but de facto and even de jure they are all under States control but not direct like the unincorporated LCDAs since all 36 states have Ministry of Local Government which is headed by a commissioner. In Ireland the counties are the local government are are run by the Central government's Minister of Local Governments. Nigeria federal structure is sweet and best after the US but we have bad eggs in leadership at Federal and State levels. |

Try and reason the amount of salaries paid in each states by federal govt apart from those paid in Fct. Federal govt pays police, army, etc federal hospital, university, polytechnic etc staffs and others in your state |

Some section of the country are just parasites. They can't stand on their own. The painful thing is that they still have the guts to tell others especially those who produce enough oil/gas for the country that they can never be president. Is it not phoolishness? The worst is that our southern brothers/sisters still gang up against their closest neighbour and brother. With those kind of mindset, it will be difficult for the country to measure up with Asian countries. Very barbaric reasoning. Then on Sunday and Friday, they all go to their various religious centre to act good. |

ufotunang:50% for where? Oyo state that doesn't give LGA money in some months the best month is 5M. Seyi Makinde is one of the most useless governor when it comes to LGA autonomy. Seriously i dont know why Fg ignored this issue and if BAT want to succeed and want people to feel the impact of Fg at grassroots he should return the LGA election to INEC and give LGA full autonomy |

Donaldoni:Just thank your stars that Nigeria has oil and gas. If not, Burundi, which is probably the world's poorest country, would have been richer than Nigeria. BTW, stop blaming the feeding bottle system for the reason why Nigerian politicians cannot think. It's a misconception. By design, Nigerians do not think. It has nothing to do with the system. |
