laurel03:...yes you are saying the truth..but according to the Constitution the federal government has no power to give LGA full autonomy is the state governors that have the right and power to do that.. Buhari tried to do that by giving an executive order for money to be sent directly to LGA bank accounts directly from the federal government ...but the state governors did not agree and they all went to court to challenge the order Buhari gave and the state governors won the case in court...so according to the Constitution is the state governors that have the power and can agree to have local government autonomy...so if nigerians want local government autonomy... nigerians in each state have to agitate and protest against their state governor to give them local government autonmy in their state and if they receive to give .. then nigerians in their state can boycott the governorship election and state assembly election iand refuse to vote untit they pass and sign a bill for local government autonomy in their states |

ufotunang:The state governors have no such power. It is the national assembly that can initiate such move by way of constitution amendment then the amendment bill is passed to state assemblies who in turn are expected to vote for or against it. The last national assembly actually agreed for local government autonomy but the state assemblies refused to vote for that amendment, that's why we are where we are. |

Demurray:Check LGA system during BAT as governor and he even created more LCDA whereras some governors dnt allowed LGA to function for 8years during thier term.. So Tinubu is a kind of person that like the shares to reach every appropriate place. As at today in Nigeria Lagos Lga still getting much percentage of their allocation. |

Guys Excess Crude Account was $9 billion when Jonathan left government. This is what Buhari and APC have reduced it to: $473,754.57. If this is not the time to shut this nation down through an industrial strike action, we never had a better time. What ineptitude! ![]() |

laurel03:The governors are powerful enough to command the respect of the FG but the LG aren't that powerful go command same respect from their governors. The FG would have loved to reduce what goes to state but wouldn't try that, they know what goes on in those states and governors too knows what goes in in the LGs. Nested corruption is the issue here. |
