Larride, we had a back-and-forth about where he's steering it in August. On page 17, he highlighted the Nigeria Startup Act, mentioning a couple of measurable benchmarks.

But he specifically avoided mentioning I-DICE which Osinbajo started. You'd stated I should give him more time when I pointed out he's pivoted away from the programme. Instead, he alluded to overhauling the approach even though I-DICE, if and when properly implemented, is the way to go.

My suspicions were right all along.

The FG cant unilaterally increase minimum wage, the Governors are part of the discussions and they must agree to the increased wage along with NLC and TUC.

After that, the FG has to send a bill to the National Assembly for the review and enactment of the minimum wage into law.

What Tinubu did was to give federal worker a temporary relief till the FG, State Govt, NLC and TUC can come to an agreement.

you can't increase minimum wage impulsively. I think by law the minimum wage should be increased next year, before you increase minimum wage, you have to set up a committee with the legislature, private sector players, and stakeholders generally. If you increase minimum wage to N100k, how do you expect some private establishment to pay 100k as minimum wage? The government and the private sector has to sit down to agree on a number, I think because the review is slated for next year, that's why he said for 6 months.

I understand that things are hard but let's be objective in our criticism, minimum wage is not the problem, I want to buy fuel at 300-400/ltr, I want uninterrupted power supply too.
