I started learning forex at the beginning of the year, and I believe I've learnt alot, I read multiple ebooks and videos and I practice my with demo daily.

So rn I'm expecting a sum of money that I plan to invest to my forex trading

Any advice on how to not blow a live account,am a day trader about to graduate

Hmm...

From my observation

If you want to avoid frustration at the start, stop trading within the range of the 4h or day or week unless you are really experienced at what you doing

Example:

If the range of the day on eurusd is 1.063- 1.052... check range of previous four days as well.. note this

Start trading from 0.25 of this area above or below, you will either catch a good trend or a good reversal.

In this case, you will only take trades if market gets to 1.066 or 1.048. Ignore any other setup and rest.

You can take this principle and apply it to weekly or monthly charts

Two consecutive trend bars on weekly will occur at best 10 times in a year.

As a matter of fact, any move you take which you hold for up to a month, long or short will loose 9/10 times if you are trading a pair like eurgbp with your normal 10-30 pips stop loss.

In summary, decide if you want to be a daily or weekly trader.

Trade the areas above or below the weekly or daily or monthly closes only applying your strategy at that point.

Try to follow very strict money management.
It will help you to improve but it won't save the account.
If you can find a mentor,it will save you alot of pain and agony.
Lastly,keep learning.

I'm growing and I like it.
The market has succeeded in breaking my ego.

It used to be difficult to draw a "line in the sand" as regards my positions because my ego couldn't accept being wrong.

I see retracements and I'm long.

You see the reason why I decided not to trade this pair, including Gold, Silver, and USOil for about 3days now.

I saw it was forming bullish candles which normally, I would have swung up - I don't miss it; but eeyy, only one bearish candle today is wiping out all those bullish candles formed in previous days. Better to never trade it at all and go on standby.

Or what's the point of taking a position and running it for 2 to 3 days but only one candle comes to clear all your labor.
Even though I stayed out, I was watching day by day to justify my standby move.

don't think that big lot size means more money
and don't think that more trade means more money
Trade small position size and trade Less
Focus on HTF
That's how you don't blow an account and that's how you make money too

Everything being equal which means you have an edge or strategy, money management should never be overlooked and never overtrade.

Take quality trades and not quantity trades. Master one or two pairs and stick with them.
