This is Matan Avergil. A young IDF recruit and just one of so, so many heroes that have fallen already in this war. On Saturday morning, as he and his comrades fought the terrorist invaders from inside their armored vehicle, a terrorist managed to throw a grenade inside. Matan immediately jump on it, absorbed the entire blast, and sacrificed himself to save everyone else in the vehicle, who were able to continue fighting the invaders. His last words as the paramedic was treating him were: “I tried to do everything to save the people of Israel”. A HERO, may he rest in eternal peace. Hamas attacked Israeli infrastructure and IDF facilities ▪️Hamas announced the launch of Ayash-250 ballistic missiles with a flight range of more than 250 km into northern Israel. It is reported that one of the missiles was intercepted over Haifa. Presumably, a fire broke out at the plant due to falling rocket debris. ▪️It is also reported that a similar missile struck the headquarters of Israel’s Northern Military District, which is located in Safed.

IDF spokesperson: A short time ago there was an explosion at the border fence in Hanita. There was minor damage to the wall. In response, the IDF forces are now responding with artillery fire towards Lebanese territory. Later, a warning was activated about the infiltration of terrorists into the settlement. Dozens of journalists and photographers from Israel and around the world, this afternoon (Friday, 13 October 2023), participated in a special tour held by the Government Press Office in conjunction with the IDF Spokesperson, at the IDF Shura base. Personnel from the IDF Rabbinate and the IDF Manpower Directorate presented the identification processes currently being carried out on hundreds of massacre victims, including women, children and many infants. The correspondents were exposed to difficult scenes and the scope of the attack on civilians. The correspondents were informed that with rabbinical approval, the work will continue on Shabbat in order to hasten – by as much as possible – the identification process and the burials. |
