Yes, Jews often say there was no king in the land today known as the state of Israel apart from Jewish kings but this means nothing because the kings were always referenced to as the "king of jews" or King of Judah and Samaria"( Jewish settlements) even in the bible not the king of the entire land.

A similar situation played out in Port novo where Gun(Fon counsins) people met Yorubas there and got a king whose only jurisdiction is amongst the Gun people and not Yoruba villages in Port novo.

They were an ancient Canaanite people that settled in present day Palestine long before the Israelites or even Greeks showed up.

The Philistines are most likely the people that inhabited Carthage before the Greek conquered it.
