Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has accused men of the Nigerian Army in the State of being neck-deep in the illegal oil theft business. According to him, the military men in the State are frustrating the efforts of his administration due to theft. Speaking to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Taoreed Lagbaja, at the Government House, the Governor explained how he had tried to resolve the problem without success because of the interest the officers have in the illegal business.
