At the just concluded United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Nigerian presidential candidate Bola Tinubu spent a whooping sum of four hundred and twenty-two thousand, eight hundred and twenty US dollars ($422,820) on hotel reservations for him and his close aides alone in just 7 days. This is equivalent to 422,820,000 million naira.

Despite the fact that there is a Nigerian House in New York, where taxpayer money is budgeted annually to maintain, Tinubu chose to stay in a luxury hotel at the taxpayers' expense. And as if that is not bad enough, he also spent an additional eighty-four thousand, five hundred and sixty-four US dollars ($84,564) on incidentals. This is equivalent to 84,564,000 million naira.

This extravagant spending comes at a time when Nigeria is facing a severe economic crisis. Millions of Nigerians are struggling to make ends meet, and many are going hungry. Yet, Tinubu and his cronies are lavishing taxpayer money on luxury hotels and other unnecessary expenses.

This is just one example of the rampant corruption that has plagued Nigeria for decades. Tinubu's actions are a symbol of the greed and impunity of the Nigerian ruling class.
