You can imagine agent for house rent giving you bill like:

House rent - ₦2.5m

Service charge- ₦500k

Agreement- 10%

Commission - 10%

Damages - 10%.

Total package- ₦3,750,000.

And we think this is normal, no one is speaking against it. This is corruption itself, we the citizens are our own enemies.

What other things related to this have we all accepted to be normal?

Bad governance and masses impoverishment.

Nigerians are so used to bad governance that everyone believes the country will only get worse and not better, that they only remembered Yar'Adua for reducing pump price.

N50 in 2023?

The last fuel I bought they removed N500. It was a yellow gallon 25 liters.

That N50 deduction was years ago.

I wonder how people keep falling for thesame strategy every time without learning from their mistakes, how can a country develop with such people occupying it, worst is they are the majority.

As long as we remain unlearned this politicians with keep using this strategy for forever on us.

Something they should be ashamed to campaign, is it not part of their responsibility before?

Sometimes I feel like this country is not mine💔🤦

What is direct tax and how do you make the payment to an entity that has no idea about where you live, what you do, the size of your family, your employer, etc.?

@me
What is direct tax? A tax that the payer of tax bears the tax burden directly.

Where you live? Your details are all over the place e.g. account details, NIN, driver's license, passport details etc. Except you supplied fake information.

What you do. The money that enters your account did it fall from the sky. It can be traced.

Size of your family. Didn't you fill your details in the above identity that I mentioned?

Your employer. The entity where you work is it not registered with CAC?

It is the duty of a taxable person to obtain his form, supply his details to the relevant tax authority.

Next question grin grin

Anything done by a government worker has to be "paid" for directly or indirectly.
My brother went to renew his driver's license. The lady asked him to give her money for lunch.
I had a payment issue and the person I was directed to help me asked for a token. How can you say you are helping me and still taxing me.
When I went back to my Alma mata to collect my certificate. The lady told me to give her a parting gift since I'm finally done.
